Back in the 1890s Cleveland was a boom town. Oil. Standard Oil. John D. Rockefeller.........Some of these houses date back to then. The good ones have sandstone foundations and lots of solid wood........During the 1920s people began to move out into the inner ring suburbs. Black folk from down south migrated up here and moved into the old Cleveland neighborhoods. About four or five generations have lived in these houses.

I remember when I delivered Oxygen for Patients and sometimes I would be on call and have to go to places like E43 Quincy ave area at 1:00AM on a warm Friday night and for a White guy like me it was pretty scary because back then their were Black folk in that area that never even seen a White Man ! At least that area hell Cops would not go down there at night without a platoon.

as a local only 20 minutes from down town, if your out in east cleveland at night, your pretty much guaranteed to get robbed, shot, or kidnapped unless your in a vehicle and you dont EVER stop at the stop signs.

You can always tell how danerous a hood is by how many fences and bars are over the windows and there were practically ZERO. Compare that to a place like Oakland. And i don't wanna hear racist people talking about its a black/white problem either cause only 14% of people in Oakland area "black" now. 🤷‍♂

Damn this video brought me back down memory lane I live on 112th and Buckeye as a kid my day lived on Kinsman I remember riding the RTA from 105 to 93rd and Kinsman going to skateland now that I look back on it shit what was I thinking. Oh and then I lived on St. Clair and hung out with cats from 131st and Union like really why was I in the streets good memories though.
