I know Cleveland has had a good ballclub for the past 30 years. Multiple division titles & a few WS appearances (1995, 1997, 2016) but still no championships. As a Mariners fan, I’d still take that success from the past 30 years compared to what the Mariners have done in that same time period
@sortofanoakyafterbirth36614 сағат бұрын
The heartbreak is insane though. The 97 WS was brutal. The 16 WS was... I don't wanna talk about it. But thrown in there are more heartbreaks not talked about. Blowing a 3-1 series lead in 2007 to Boston in the ALCS only for Boston to sweep the Rockies was just gut wrenching. Winning 93 games in 2005 only to miss the playoffs. Winning 22 straight games in 2017 and looking primed to finally win it all going up 2-0 over the Yankees in the ALDS only to lose 3 straight and blow it. 2018 they faced the Trashtros in the ALDS and got swept. Didn't have a chance. You have no idea the mental torture it is... sometimes I wonder if it's better to just root for a loser...
@sortofanoakyafterbirth36614 сағат бұрын
Also... my best memory is going to Jacob's Field in 2007 home opener against your Mariners. Maybe you watched? The "Snowm-Opener". I was there with some good friends a year or two after high school. Snow squalls kept delayed Paul Byrd's no-hitter (that never was...game got canceled before 5 innings), the smell of the gas engines exhaust from the leaf blowers blowing the snow off the field... getting better seats after ppl left and getting hit with the blown snow like crazy, some moron ran on the field and did a snow angel... Terrible game. But the best experience ever lol. I think they played the rest of the series in Milwaukee bc of more snow.
@S_Over_Street15 минут бұрын
@@sortofanoakyafterbirth3661 I remember that postponed snow game from April 2007. That was an entire 4 game series that was postponed that had to be made up in chunks during the season.
