Thank you SO MUCH for this video! Most of the videos on youtube just say "I quit my 9-5 job and started a business" with no helpful information about how to feasibly and responsibly do it. I really appreciate this! Do you have any tips about how to go about finding a lawyer that could help with starting a business?

I really do find this videos interesting and motivating. Any motivator need a motivator to inspire them to motivate others. I love to motivate people regardless of who they are. That's why i started my talkshow channel which give startups, creative minds or businesses the ability to share what they do with the public. I want to motivate so many people especially women in Africa to wake up and focus on their dreams rather than sleeping and complaining about how things are difficult. Thanks for this.

Could you comment/ make a video about the conversation you had with your manager and employer once you announced your departure to begin a business? Can you provide input on the type of difficult questions they (hr) may ask as a result? My goal is to leave this October and resign four weeks prior (by giving them a one month notice)

How did you decide to pay quarterly for taxes? Based on your video, it sounds like you opened 4 different accounts, how is it working for you? How did you research lawyers and accountants to help you on your journey? What mark did you reach to know and be comfortable to quit your job? I am learning as I go, please forgive my ignorance.
@Clevergirlfinance7 жыл бұрын
@scholastic01 - I use Intuit to track my business income / expenses and it tracks how much I need to pay in taxes quarterly. Having multiple accounts helps me stay organized. The lawyer I use is a personal friend but my accountant was on personal referral from someone I trust and it's worked out well. I quit my job when I reached the savings goal I mentioned AND I knew I was able to generate a baseline love of consistent income in the business. I hope this helps!
@robertibeh7 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you did it right way. I started my business hobbling, and it never really took off. I closed it some years ago and it was a good experience, although I'll definitely address entrepreneurship differently in my next attempt. For your #3, was your emergency fund your own, or joint with your spouse? It sounds separate.
@Clevergirlfinance7 жыл бұрын
Thanks - i think it's all about careful planning. Yes my e-fund was seperate as my spouse works

Great advice, how do you find mentors?
@yomamascupoftea94596 жыл бұрын
Start locally..City Hall, Chamber of Commerce, network groups etc. Then make sure you have something of value to offer such as a particular skill, new business or your time. Always be upfront but gentle about your intentions.

How did you find your lawyer to help you with your LLC? Is it always necessary to get a lawyer to help with the process? Should money be set aside for one?
@Clevergirlfinance5 жыл бұрын
You can do research online and at your local chamber of commerce. You don’t necessarily need a lawyer to get started. Sba.gov is a great start if you are in the US
