I appreciate what Jackie said at the end. With everything going on in the environment and now that clothing is #2 in pollution, dupes make the problem worse. Trends and micro trends have almost single-handedly destroyed our planet. And the big companies don’t care enough to make any changes and we as consumers can’t/won’t stop consuming their products. Something should have been done to fix these problems when they first started 50+ years ago. At this point, whatever we do as consumers will never be enough. And if you’re someone who wears an outfit 1 time then throws it away, please for the love of god stop. Stop it. Donate them. Give them to a local homeless shelter. I don’t even take my stuff to Salvation Army or goodwill anymore cause of how much they started charging for stuff. Hit up your local shelter of some kind cause they will give them away for free to people who need them.

You make very good points, but I disagree that we as consumers can’t do any more. Companies only speak one language and that’s money/profit. Companies are driven by demand and will not produce what will not be consumed because then they lose profits. All that to say, consumers are powerful. We stop consuming and they stop producing. That goes for all industries not just fashion

I hear what you're saying, but dupes also allow the average person to buy styles they love without having to pay the abhorrent prices the original brands charge. In turn, they can save some money buying a dupe instead of breaking the bank on the originals. Although it's true that this argument breaks down if you're buying dupes which are terrible quality, AND it doesn't address the issue of consumerism that both the pricey brands and dupe brands have cultivated in our society that may people have bought into (pun not intended). I think for environmentally conscious folks, they are perhaps MORE aware of consumerism and their own spending habits than others, and don't rely on buying things to make them happy. Unfortunately, our society has linked shopping, spending and buying with our happiness. The resulting junk then gets thrown out and in turn hurts our environment. Whatever happened to being able to easily go to a repair shop, instead of having to buy an entirely new item because either no one knows how to fix it or because the broken part is no longer available or because the broken part isn't sold separately?

I had those white dupe boots from Amazon. Sent them back immediately. They felt so uncomfortable and so cheap in quality. And the way they were packaged gave one of the boots a permanent indentation in the toe area. Learned my lesson lol. I only get my western boots in real leather from Boot Barn now. Keep the reviews coming ladies, love your videos!

if you're willing to spend 120 on princess polly boots, you could totally find a WAY better quality boot for the same price. And, for a little more up to twice as much, you could get a legit cowboy or riding boot custom made for your foot, in real leather, and meant to last longer than some club version of a boot. :)

Walmart has been selling white cowboy boys all summer for like $40 they look more like the ones you were trying to dupe. Side note elder Gen Z here, we are aware and we did experience it. We inherited all your clothing when you grew out of it. The older Gen Z are all in their mid to late 20s at this point. 😂

You might as well save up for the more expensive items and buy it or just buy something else like Jackie said. Most of the time the crappy dupe you get is going to end up in the trash a few months later. You end up spending more money on dupes then you would have just buying the more expensive item or something else that you love just as much but is less expensive. Also, I'm sure everyone knows this but always consider if you REALLY need something or not bc I had a habit of buying a lot of clothes and would honestly forget about them. Now I wait about a week or so and if I am still thinking about it, I will possibly buy it.

also, unpopular opinion; these skims rompers and styles like them - i can't get on board. it's more like a onesie for a child than it is a "romper" imvho, and even on STUNNING people - i don't get it. i would NEVER unless it was for a dance/workout class, and even then - maybe not. i'm also long torso'd so stuff like this never sits right on me, and that could be part of the problem.. but no. lol

What makes princess Polly worth it to me is you can almost always get a 20-30% discount. So those $110 would probably end up being more like $80-$90 which I think is alright for the quality. Sadly my calves are too thicky for that so I’d love to know where Madeline’s opinion if she has one (since I remember her saying before she has thick calves)

look for boots that say they have wide calf options. Torrid has lots of boots that have wide calf options. I finally was able to get a pair of knee high boots there that fit my wide calves.
