She's only worked with a couple female directors over her decades long career and her production company hired a female director for one movie. I feel the same, like I can appreciate she wears what she wants and doesn't care, I feel the same way about Billy Porter. I think both of them have DIFFERENT looks and looks we are not used to seeing...but that doesn't make them GOOD looks. Like I feel that people like them, and so ANYTHING they wear people will say something positive about. And its not really a case of "well they just pull it off" because I don't necessarily think that they do, There are people who can just make something ugly look great, like JLo, she has worn something that if I had seen on the hanger/someone else, I would be like "thats awful" but she has worn somethings where she genuinely has made the DRESS look great, and Im not a fan of her one way or another so its not like I just liked what she wore because I like her. Billie Ellish and Billy Porter, they wear it with confidence, and at this point its almost part of both of their "characters" that you are just so used to seeing their particular styles on them, but (to me) I don't think they make those styles look any better. To me its not like Billy Porter wore an ugly dress and made it look incredible, it's like he wore an ugly dress, that still looks as ugly as it would on anyone, but we like him so we say its amazing. Same with Billie Eilish

Billie Porter....eh, maybe its just not for me but I feel like most of his looks don't actually look good, they are just shocking and not what we are used to, especially on a man...but that doesn't make them GOOD. I like his last year's Oscars look he wore I liked and I thought looked good, but a lot of the looks he has had more recently just seem like they are riding on the concept of being out there, and they just don't have anything else going for them. There are certain people, like JLo who you will see her wearing things and looking incredible because she just pulls off some looks so well and makes them look incredible, that on almost anyone else would look terrible, but for Billy Porter, I don't think its even like that, because I don't think its like he just has this ability to pull it off and make it look good, I think he wears it with confidence, but (to me at least) they still don't look good. I think people like what he wears because they like HIM, but I feel like if people didn't like him/his personality, people wouldn't be saying his looks are as great as they are now.
