I've been watching these videos for some time now and it just occurred to me that this may be what Jesus was like. The Bible records His preaching but it also records Him answering questions, sometimes genuine from people really seeking truth and other times from those just looking to score debate points. How marvelous that 2000 years later His followers are still doing the same thing - and still presenting the Good News to the lost.

JESUS Christ Claimed To Be God - John 10:33, 8:53-58 ▪︎ Jesus said, "The Father and I are One" (John 10:27-36; 5:15-25). ▪︎ Jesus said, "All That Belongs to The Father is Mine" (John 16:15). ▪︎ Jesus said, "Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father" (John 14:9). ▪︎ Jesus said, "Because Whatever the Father does the Son also does" (John 5:19). ▪︎ Jesus said, "I am in the Father and the Father is in Me" (John 14:10). ▪︎ Jesus Said, "I am God's Son" (John 10:25-36). JESUS Eternally Exists & Appeared To Abraham & Moses: ▪︎ OT - God said to Moses, "I Am Who I Am, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, this is my name forever, the name you shall call me from generation to generation" (Exodus 3:13-15). ▪︎ God said to Moses, "Say to the Israelites: 'I Am has sent me to you'" (Exodus 3:13-15). ▪︎ NT - Jesus said, " Truly, I tell you, Before Abraham was Born "I Am" (John 8:55-58). • The Lord tested Abraham with his son, Isaac.. (Genesis 22:1-2). ▪︎ The Pre-Incarnate Jesus visited Abraham outside his Tent (Genesis 18:1-15). ▪︎ "Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel." (Isaiah 7:14). The Word Became Flesh: A Man Full of Grace and Glory ▪︎ "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1). ▪︎ "All things were made by Him, without Him nothing was made that has been made" (John 1:3). ▪︎ "In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind" (John 1:4). ▪︎ "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:14). The Word Became Flesh By The Holy Spirit & The Most High: ▪︎ The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High..” “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God." (Luke 1:28-35). Jesus is not an ordinary man that lies but an extraordinary supernatural God-man. ▪︎ God said, "This is my Son whom I love.." (Matthew 3:17). The Father Calls the Son God: ▪︎ "But about the SON he says, “Your throne, O GOD, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore GOD, Your GOD, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy” (Hebrews 1:5-9; Psalm 45:6-7). ▪︎ "The Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him." (John 5:22-23). ▪︎ Thomas said to Jesus, "My Lord and my God" (John 20:28-29). ▪︎ The Centurian said, "Truly this was the Son of God" (Matthew 27:54). ▪︎ Peter answered Jesus, "You are the Messiah the Son of the Living God" (Matt 16:15-17). ▪︎ Jesus said, "You call me Teacher and Lord, and rightly so for that is who I Am" (John 13:12-14). ▪︎ "Christ is the human image of the invisible God" (Colossians 1:15-18; 2 Corinthians 4:4). ▪︎ "No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is Himself God, who is in closet relationship with the Father, has made Him Known" (John 1:18). ▪︎ "The Son Is The Radiance Of God's Glory and the exact representation of his being" (Hebrews 1:3). They Crucified Jesus For Being God Incarnate: ▪︎ The High priest asked, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One? "I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven” (Mark 14:61-62; Daniel 7:13-14). ▪︎ High Priest said, “We have a law, according to that law he must die, because he claimed to be the Son of God" (John 19:7). ▪︎ Jesus said, "What about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’?" (John 10:36). ▪︎ High Priest said, “We are not stoning you for any good work, but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.” (John 10:25-36). ▪︎ "For this reason therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God" (John 5:18). ▪︎ Only a Perfect Holy Man can repay the debt of human sin to the Perfect Holy God on mankind's behalf. .. The Holy Sinless Christ, God Incarnate. ▪︎ "For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it" (James 2:10). No man can keep the whole law so our salvation is through Christ's redemptive grace. ▪︎ "But we do see Him who has been made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death is crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone" (Heb 2:9). ▪︎ ".. Christ, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross" (Philippians 2:5-8). ▪︎ Jesus was not denying that He was God, rather acknowledging He added a devine human nature. As a holy human being He was in a lesser position than the Father. ▪︎ "God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, in order that He might redeem those under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons" (Galatians 4:4-5). ▪︎ "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through redemption that came by Christ Jesus" (Romans 3:23-24). ▪︎ Jesus said, "Father, Glorify Me In Your Presence With The Glory I Had With You Before The World Began" (John 17:1-5). ▪︎ "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:31-39). ▪︎ "God didn’t save us according to our works but according to His grace, which was given to us in Christ long before the world began, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel" (2 Timothy 1:9-10). ▪︎ "By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear" (Hebrews 8:12-13; 10:12-22). ▪︎ "Love does no wrong to a neighbor therefore Love is the fulfilling of the Law" (Rom 13:10; Matt 22:30-40). ▪︎ "Whoever does not Love does not know God because God is Love" (1John 4:8). ▪︎ "Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him" (1John 3:15). ▪︎ "The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, he hates with a passion" (Psalms 11:5). Christ's 2 Greatest Commandments Are To Love: ▪︎ "Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 1. Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment." 2. "And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself, love your enemy and pray for those who persecute you"’ ☆ "All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments” (Matthew 22:30-40, 7:12 ). ▪︎ Jesus condemns OT violence and Rituals etc. ▪︎ Jesus said, You have heard it said, "an eye for eye, etc. But I tell you, Love your enemy" (Matt 5:38-48). ▪︎ Jesus was Crucified and rose from the dead on the 3rd day victorious over sin and death. ▪︎ "Jesus is the atoning sacrifice for our sins and not only ours but also for the sins of the whole world" (1John 2:2). Love doesn't take the life of another to save another, but instead give his own life to save his friends. Love is the sacrificing of itself to save another. Even when Peter tried to protect Jesus from being taken by the soldiers by cutting off the ear of one of the soldiers, he healed his ear and told Peter to put away his sword and said all who take up the sword shall perish by the sword (Matthew 26:52 KJV). Jesus didn't promote violence toward others in any kind of way, not even self-defense. In Luke 3:14 KJV even the soldiers were commanded to do violence to no man. As followers of Jesus Christ, as long as our faith is in him, he is our shield of protection, and if any kind of physical force is necessary in any event, there's government in place to handle such situations which is ordained by God as a revenger to execute wrath on the evil doer (Romans 13:4 KJV).

He was no longer in His teaching role. He was dying for our sins exactly how He intended. This was in no way a demonstration for His followers to adopt Praise the Lord. Christ is king 🙏❤️💪

God is perfect justice, meaning all sin is punished, and perfect love, meaning all sin is forgiven. The only way that can work is for God to accept the punishment for all sin for us. That is what Jesus did for us on the cross. Even though he was sinless, the Son of God, and is God, He suffered so we're all forgiven. All you have to do is accept that, and you are free from suffering for your sins and can be in an eternal loving relationship.

And your point being a “bible scholars” & knowing other bible scholars and the dating & ordering of the biblical texts is… ??? If you are a bible scholar you should know that little of what’s claimed in any the Bible can be demonstrated to be fact. They’re all testimonies About prior testimonies (Jesus’s words for one example). Another name for all those testimonies is commonly referred to as HEARSAY !! And that biblical “scholarship” largely ignores human Motives, why stories such as the biblical myths arise (and other types of mythology). I can accept the notion there was an ancient Jewish rabbi referred to as Jesus. And even the places he supposedly traveled to be real places. And I have little doubt some of what Jesus claimed to be conducive to civility & instilling some degree of “hope” in people’s minds in a cold/cruel natural universe. But no one can demonstrate that even those things were Unique to Jesus alone. Or that his ideas were “original” & didn’t previously exist in other cultural histories. As a biblical scholar you should know there appears to be a period in Jesus’s life (about 10 yrs or more) there is no history for Jesus and some “biblical scholars” suggest he spent those yrs visiting other areas of the middle & far east. This is believed to have occurred prior to Jesus establishing his own ministry. I’m far more confident in the notion that he picked up some of his ideas from other cultures (such as Mithraism, popular with the Roman elite & warriors, Confucianism from China, or even Buddhism from India). It would be a remarkable claim forJesus to have NOT picked up such ideas if he indeed did spend those yrs traveling. It’s far more likely than Jesus communing with a supernatural deity. I’d even be willing to accept that Jesus was perhaps a very observant, altruistic ancient that established his ministry to provide some degree of Hope to “commoners” of his time who like today have difficulty handling what nature dishes out, including the inevitability of one’s own death. And the things Jesus is claimed to have taught was geared toward Hope for the miserable & suffering of his day. But again… it’s a huge leap from such altruism to some supernatural god existing outside the natural universe & can manipulate natural law. If a person truly is a biblical scholar one needs (in my opinion) should be scrutinizing biblical claims based upon the most plausible & a preponderance of empirical evidence as opposed to what a person desires, in particular ideas that act as an emotional “security blanket” due to fear of one’s inevitable demise.
@msmd329516 сағат бұрын
Me thinks you’re assuming too much and those assumptions are being translated into Fact. In psychological terms (weee it not for constitutional protection) may as well be “interpreted” as delusion. 1. It’s a dubious proposition that you or anyone else knows to the very day (50 per your comment) when the “ Church of the Lord Jesus Christ” was born. I very much doubt in those ancient times they even kept such detailed records. 2. And who were those individuals? As a so-called biblical scholar as you claim, there are no such documents that can be dated less than (on average) 50 YEARS AFTER the claimed resurrection. 3. You nor anyone else can demonstrate as a “matter of fact” that some ancient Jewish rabbi did come back to life after 3 days after being crucified. If you knew anything about natural biology, you should know (ask any modern-day coroner) that once deprived of nutrients & oxygen the cells of any animal begin to “dissolve” after just a few hours !! And the warmer the ambient temperature the quicker the process. (And Jesus supposedly lived in a relatively warm climate.) 4. And what is that “outpouring of Jesus’s Holy Spirit” you claim ?? Do you not realize there is no evidence of ANY “spirits” that exist independently of the human mind ?? You fail to realize “spirit” is nothing but a product of the human imagination (or emotion). 5. How would you or anyone else have the faintest idea of what any god would recognize ?? You can’t even demonstrate there is such a supernatural being. Let alone what that being thinks or wants. 6. Matthew, Peter & John… on the Apostle John (as one example) , “ Although the authorship of the Johannine works has traditionally been attributed to John the Apostle, only a minority of contemporary scholars believe he wrote the gospel”. (Wikipedia). Peter came from a family of “fishermen”. As a result it is unlikely Peter even knew how to write. There was no “public” education in Jesus’ era. People learned Trades and a formal education was only for the wealthy who could pay for private education. As a tradesman all one needed to know were the craft of their trade and there was little need to know how to write & read. Matthew on the other hand was (if I’m recalling correctly) was a “tax collector” for the Roman establishment. So it is likely he had some education. Point being in all this is mere words shouldn’t be blindly accepted as “TRUTH”. What distinguishes truth from mere “opinion”?? Independent empirical evidence !! And even evidence may not be an “ultimate truth”. Take for example Newtonian physics as opposed to Einsteinian physics… It was a “matter of fact” prior to Einstein that light travelled in a straight line (in a vacuum). Einstein proposed that massive objects distort the “fabric of space/time” and would “bend” light. But that idea wasn’t widely accepted until 20 or so years later when physicists & astronomers demonstrated that light does indeed bend around massive objects. That is the whole purpose of Science… to reveal “truths”. Even though truths may change from one era to another based upon new Evidence. But your belief is Dogmatic, carved in stone if you will, not subject to new “revelations”. Christianity along with all other (supernatural) beliefs set doctrine, rituals, etc that are not easily adaptable to new knowledge. In fact it wasn’t until the 1990s the Catholic Church “officially” acknowledged the Heliocentric solar system proposed by Copernicus. And that the church persecution of him was wrong.

The Council of Nicea was what Emperor Constantine called to bring all the various christian cults together under one umbrella. It was after that, some 70 yrs later that the “worldwide” church got together to decide what gospels would be included in the New Testament. Because different cults wanted the inclusion of different gospels and some uniformity had to be established for the sake of consistency. It was the Protestant Reformation (in part) that led to the various chrisrian bibles in existence today. Either way, it was a chauvinistic cohort that decided what’s in the New Testament. For example there’s a gospel of Thomas, a gospel of Mary & other texts that were purposely excluded because they didn’t meet a certain criteria for the message the church wanted to propagate.

Dead wrong… for 300 years after the claimed resurrection various christian cults were spread across the Middle East and were considered “cults” by the Roman authorities. It wasn’t until the conversion of Emperor Constantine at the beginning of the 4th century was there any “formal” christian church. And all NT (after a survey of available ancient Hebrew & Greek translations was the NT even put together at the later conferences that Cliffe notes. Most biblical scholars & historians agree None of those gospels were even written until at least 50 yrs after the claimed resurrection. And the apostle Paul (for example) never even met the biblical Jesus.
