1993 was a huge bumper year for Stallone giving him 2 of his biggest hits Cliffhanger & Demolition Man. It was also the films that put Stallone back on top, having Schwarzenegger dominating the box office previously. So while Schwarzenegger would flounder with Last Action Hero, Stallone would reign supreme even outdoing fellow superstar Bruce Willis Striking Distance. It is really Stallone's best movie outside of Rocky & Rambo and still holds up today. The movie only came about as the other project he Renny Harlin were due to do together Gale Force fell apart. 10/10

It doesn't really matter, only gives it an extra sense of wonder it's something nobody cared about back then nor should they now. Imagine this awesome action classic being made now, it'd be nothing but CGI i.e. detached reality thus losing all feel of realness that this movie has. They just don't make them like this anymore, in some ways it's a great pity in another a blessing because it'd only look like a video game like virtually all action movies today.

Then some years later, the opening sequence of "Cliff Hanger" would be parodied in the movie "Ace Ventura 2: When Nature Calls," where the hero, Ace Ventura, has a similar, mountain-rescue-gone-wrong experience. That being, in the parody, instead of another person slipping out of Ace's hand, the tragic, deadly fall is that of a racoon.

I'm not a Stallone fan, but I find this movie to be his best in an unpretentious heroic role. More importantly, the movie is rich in exploring the roles of relationships between friends, teams, and lovers. The moral of the story is that if you chase money over anything else, you lose everything, but if you choose your heart to do the right thing, you could save your friendships and even your lives. The ending is appropriate - the bad guys died and the good guys survived. The title, "Cliffhanger," points out that people always have a choice in a dilemma, which would it be: material gains or heartfelt friendships?

This was like Stallone’s version of die hard on a mountain. Ironically because this film was directed by Renny Harlin who directed die hard 2 die harder. And Stallone was originally considered along with Arnold Schwarzenegger to play John mcclane in die hard. And it also reminds me of die hard 2 because the bad guy dies in an explosion which also carries on into this film, cutthroat island and long kiss goodnight which Harlin also directed that were good. And John lithgow played the best villains in this film, buckaroo banzai with Peter Weller and Christopher Lloyd, and ricochet with Denzel Washington

I guees his neighbor kept denhing it until sly woke up early and camped out to catch the dog in the act. Him beating the dog surprises me though, I figured he'd go after his neighbor and not the dog itself. That seems kinda messed up, even for stallone am I right son?
