Update: Last year was a good year with this climber. I'm a big boy, and it is a little heavier than you would like, if you're hiking a long way. I left it locked to a tree a couple of times. We have some private land, but it's wide open, since it's part of a highline where power poles run. carrying it in and out is work. I locked it to a tree when I knew I would hunt that spot again the next day. Really did some extra-foam and tape modifications to get it "carry" quiet. As you said, this is not your quick climber, although I am pretty good at getting in and getting up a tree. This year, I will be doing a little more climbing. Stay safe out there guys. Please wear them harness. Veteran climbers are having accidents. We all want to make it back to our families. Good hunting!!

Great review! I have owned and used one of these for many years and love it. Being a big guy, I find the additional weight capacity to be a bonus, particularly when you start hanging day packs, bows etc from the top bars.

I sure appreciate it. Im a big boy and I have that exact climber. Great review, great suggestions. This will be my 2nd year back into tree climbing, after a 20 year hiatus. Lol. I took it it easy this past season, only climbing 10-12 ft, just to get back into it. I did take a nice 8-pointer. This year I will push it up to 15 ft in certain areas...perhaps...lol..Good stuff....

Good instruction. I've used one for several years and love it. When you add the stabilizer straps this stand is the best I've ever used, far more convenient than any ladder, etc. First things first though: Put that safety rope on the tree first and don't even consider getting into the stand until you and your vest or harness are secured.

Hey man, can you do a solid and do a weight test and confirm how much weight these stands can take. Like , take aboard and attach it over the bottom and hang weights from it and see what they can actually hold. I suspect it’s 400 lbs

Man I am digging your content. We really need to connect while I'm in Arkansas. Check out my content my web page and more. I think we can get some good videos out and do some product reviews. In the past I've had sponsorships and being a brand ambassador. Mainly for fishing, but I'm looking to expand to my hunting. And I got all the tools and gadgetry. I've done my share of hunting out west as well, namely California. So I like hunting public lands and I do private land out here in arkansas. Looking to go on this public land out here. Even more, just to do some filming and more.

New to bow hunting and have been looking for a climber tree stand for a bigger guy. What do you believe is the best one overall? Obviously here you go over the bulkiness, the weight and noise but it’s built bigger for us and extremely comfortable. So pros with the cons, is the lone wolf better in your opinion?

This review is over a year old, but I think this would be the stand for me. I'm 6 ft and 280 pounds. My biggest problem is finding a stand that I can sit comfortably in and at the same time feel safe standing up in and turning around or anything else I need to do while up the tree. I'm a sunrise to sunset hunter so I need that comfort. As far as weight, I'm not really concerned with because I'm 50 years old and I use my deer cart from, Muddy, to haul my things in anyway. My walks in are usually 500+ yards from the truck on public land. Thanks for this review, I will be investing in one of these for next season.

Thanks for the breakdown. Your insight would be appreciated as I am new to climbers: Been looking for a xbow/rifle climber setup as an alternative to a my PSE saddle/3 stick/predator XL setup. Looking at the larger climbers as I am 6'4" w/ size 13 dogs. I saw you recommended the LW SC Wide, they look to both be 21lbs. Does LW still manufacture the SC? Would you say having a leveling system (i.e. Equalizer @ 23.5lbs. (21in) - 29lbs. (24in.)) & being able to face the tree more comfortable is worth the added weight or keep it simple stupid? 29lbs. is beefy, though I have plenty of exp. hoofing more weight for longer distances and I'm talking max 1.5mile pack in.
@CliftonDenneyOnYourOwnOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
I would look at the summit Goliath or summit Titian… lone wolf went out of business this year sadly and XOP will no longer be carrying their wide version. As far as the level goes. If you’re familiar with a climber at all I personally do not see a large advantage in the level. Certainly not for the extra weight. The summit stands are super comfortable as they are.
