My mother passed away on the 22 of March. I just happened to find your channel about a week later while checking out expat stuff. I can see the dam of tears walled up behind your face. I'm kinda feeling that way too right now. It comes out little by little, but there's a big cry in there struggling to come out.

I'm really sorry for you loss. Honestly, this is the hardest thing I've ever gone through and being overseas, away from what I know as home, and away from close friends has made it... well... I can't say harder because I've never experienced it before, but it's hard. I do my best to keep it together and stay positive, but it isn't easy. But it's life, and death is life, and you can't always predict when these things are going to happen. Little things really break my heart, like making these videos. The whole reason I started this was for my mother, and now she's gone. So I can't tell her about Hua Shan or anything else ever again, and that's the kind of stuff that gets to me. Little things. I'm sure you understand.

As a Zhengzhouer, I dare not go to climb this crazy mountain until now...It's really amazing that you have done this! There are Five Mountains (五岳) in China located in east, west, north, south and middle called, Tai Shan, Hua Shan, Heng Shan (恒山), Heng Shan (衡山) and Song Shan. You have finished two of them. And the most beautiful mountain is Huang Shan, I think you should not miss it. :)

Even with the changes in the attempt to make it "more safe" ( I add quotes because because it isn't safe even when it's more safe) as I said in the parentheses: it isn't more safe it's still crazy. I'd love to go to Huang Shan.

OMG! I cant believe you climbed huashan! Iv'e been talking to my family about climbing that for almost a year now and they think im totally outta my mind & they don't even know what the trail (really) involves lol. I always said that I would climb the mountain and go meditate in the temple for 3 days and 3 nights and sing om, and come back down a more enlightened person. (I relate very closely to Buddhism)

I've been curious as to what really inspired you to go live in China. Although I've thought about it myself, it is a very big decision and not one that many people choose to take.

I wish I could tell you. If you asked me three months ago I would probably have some kind of answer about always wanting to see China or that I was looking to really get to know the culture, and the best way to really know a culture is to work in a place versus just traveling through it. But after certain things: really big culture shock and my mom dying, I've kind of lost the original reason I came. I don't know if it really matters anymore, but I understand you are thinking of coming. People come for all kinds of reasons right? I did want to come to China, many years ago, when I was younger looking at National Geographic, but this is a different China this is modern China. That's like people wanting to go to America to see 'The Wild Wild West" with "Cowboys and Indians" it doesn't exist (at least not in the cities, and the reality is never a photograph). I think I came here because I wanted to go somewhere, and there was an opening and I took it. A friend said, does anyone want to teach in China and I said, me. That's about it. Before China I was looking at The Republic of Georgia. Two totally different places. I see a spot in the water where it looks safe to jump even if there are rocks below and even if I'm scared. I scan the water to try to find the deepest spot and if I know there is a spot that looks safe I'll jump. No real reason except change. I guess I don't say that much because it doesn't sound like that good of a reason. And, it's not very interesting (to me it is, but maybe not to others).

It it illegal to do renovation on holidays and weekends, they also can't do that before 8am and after 6pm on week days, otherwise talk with them first, if it still happens, you can call the police.

ARE YOU SERIOUS? Oh, my, god, I wish I knew that. I just assumed people worked 24/7 because why else would someone decided to remodel at 3:00 a.m to 6:00 a.m.? That was the first tenets. I'm pretty sure they moved out and new tenets moved in because there was new remodeling and a different time schedule. It's over now. Thanks for telling me because if there are new tenets that want to renovate I can say something. Well, not me, but one of my friends can say something for me. :)
