If you've not been told already, it's because of the iron inside the rock, it gets weathered and the iron oxidises from magnetite (darker crystals) to haematite (rusty red). Not to be confused with red-pink feldspar crystals or if its weathered reddish clay (softer sediment). Try heading up Vesuvius if you're ever in Naples, visit Herculaneum too if you can, its a more complete Roman town than Pompei, often cloud-free between summer and early-mid Autumn. Great videos

Wow, I literally knew absolutely NONE of that! Lol thank you so much for the information friend ☺️ Huh, we will hopefully be going to Europe soon so we will have to check that out!

@@ChaseforAdventure that's ok, Japan is high up my list. I think your Instagram show's you still to be in SE Asia. I used to live in Singapore, so if you happen to pass through Changi for a layover, try heading to a rooftop bar & microbrewery called Level 33 (ie. 33rd floor) in the business district (Raffles place MRT) next to Marina Bay. They do their own craft beer, some good (if pricy) food and great views without forking out 21 Sing 💵 for a view without beer at Marina Bay Sands, best thing no tourists.

I can see and yea we are in Thailand, about to go to India 🇮🇳 Oh wow, we want to make a layover in Singapore with the new additions to Changi so we’ll have to check that out. Thank you ☺️

This is the red variety of scoria. The basaltic lava starts out black, but oxidation of iron during eruption and emplacement of the scoria turns it red. www.pitt.edu/~cejones/GeoImages/2IgneousRocks/IgneousTextures/8PumiceScoria.html So, seems like the rock rusts during or after eruption?

Love the video, but just wanna point out that in Japan it is considered rude to talk on public transportation. Even answering a phone/having the phone ring. Just wish more foreigners would know especially in touristy areas just to give the local people a easier time.

May I ask a question? Do you thing a person with Acrofobia (not fear, FOBIA of heights) can climb this?
@ChaseforAdventure5 жыл бұрын
I think so! I’m terrified of heights (you can hear me whimpering on a cable car in Malaysia). The difference with a mountain is that even if you’re high up, your feet are still on the ground. There are going to be a couple of parts where you shouldn’t look down, but overall it’s not bad!

I was trying to have an idea of the inclination by videos and google "street" view but it's hard to have sure. That trail path looks nice, half of it is through vegetation that blocks the view, which helps. I'm asking because in my case I can't even climb slopes, so... I was thinking it with practice I could get used, enough to climb a mountain, and if I were to climb a mountain then it has to be Fuji. But there's another problem... once up there... the descent is the worst part because you have to look down.

Climbing mount fuji is not hard. Honestly it's peanuts at least for me. Just come prepared eat smart and having the proper foot wear makes the world of a difference.

Fair enough...you are definitely in better shape than us then 😂 I also was altitude sick the entire time. There was one time I looked over the edge, the world literally went upside down, and I fell head first into the wall...thankfully not off the side lol Do you climb mountains regularly?
