--------------------------------
This year I made a point to fulfill my dream of climbing and peaking Mount Fuji, Japan.
Although many said that the climb was not technically challenging, the journey itself was not easy, I made sufficient preparation in terms of my clothing, shoes and accommodation in the mountain. Other than being safe, I had also wanted to see how it feels like to stay in a mountain hut in Mount Fuji. So the planning involves booking with the accommodation directly in spite the reiteration that the website only deals in Japans language. All turns out well, they reply me in english, thankfully.
It was a good climb, the weather has been benign along the journey. There were fog but the foggy weather shields the sun making it a pleasant climb up.
I reached the 9th station early and secures a good spot for the sunrise. Unfortunately, the clouds got in the way of the rising sun. I guess we cannot have it all sometimes.
However I think much of the rewards comes from not only the sun rise but from the experiences I had along the way, the self discovery about myself, how I react, how I felt and how I think when the things least expected happens, the need to stay positive when things don't go the way I intended.
It has been a greta adventure for me.
And if you do want to attempt Mount Fuji, I wish you the best and hope you have the very best experiences like I do.

Hi! I will be doing the hike this coming sept 2019, mind to share how did you book the mountan hut and when is the hut opened for reservation?
@fabiandoestravel
@fabiandoestravel 5 жыл бұрын
HI Eugene, I emailed the hut directly. Although it was noted that they only response to Japanese language, they replied to mine. The dates for reservation is different for each year. You need to google them for 2019. But generally it coincides with the climbing season. Good luck !

@@drimer9 overnight is not so cool, while I was walking down at midnight about 3 hours, all you can see is some city lights in a distance, and the rest is pitch black. And flashlight gathers a ton of different flying bugs. tho I walked around summit, the weather didn't let me to wait for sunrise.

Hi Kerlin, I am not sure if you can rent boots at the 5th station at Fuji, but I am sure there are some rental shops in and around Tokyo who caters for these. Personally I brought my own.
