When u have it. Stop eating only soup for 1 week, and antibiotics for about 2 weeks. Then 3 times a week i have fiber taken by eating Brussel sprouts cooked and mash with butter. Eat a big bowl. I was diagnosed at 34 years I am now 70 years of age. Believe me i have tried everything over the years. This is how i desl wirh it. Remember never let yourself go even 1 hour without drinking. All my problems start when i get too buisy at work, and dont stop to drink. Does not matter what you drink just that you must drink. Yes i feel sorry for all of you it is very painful. I have spent many years on the bathroom floor doubled up in pain and vomiting at tge same time and shaking and shivering. I sit in the shower tray and pour the hit water onto my liwer abdomen. Thus helps siith the pain. I do understand. Mych lovs to all.

I just got this, I am a truck driver, had pain in gut like gas pains for a few days, When driving down the road and I would hit a bump it felt like someone punched me in the gut. After it did not go away after day 4 I went to the DR and found out this is the issue. Not thrilled but it could have been other things, glad some meds and proper diet will clear it up. And it is nice to actually know what the issue was. I was thinking of Hernia, bladder infection, bowel obstruction, appendix etc. Just came here to figure out what I should eat to take it easy for a few days.

I have never smoked. Have a very active life style and have always eaten a very nutritious and fiber rich diet. That being said, I have had two instances of acute diverticulitis. Each occurring at a time when I was consuming nuts, fresh tomatoes and fresh corn on a regular basis. I avoid nuts, seeds and corn and have had no further episodes of acute diverticulitis.

I had to go to the ER last Saturday because I was having sharp pains in my lower left abdomen. Turned out to be diverticulitis. My grandmother died from a perforated colon because of this disease. It was an absolutely awful death so naturally I’m scared shitless. She was a big woman though and probably never knew she had it. I’m hoping with a diet I can avoid further complications. I’ve heard seeds and nuts can cause it. This sucks because raw tomatoes is one of my favorite snacks. I’m gonna miss salsa too 😢

Unless one suffers with this disease, others have no idea of the pain it causes. Low fibre diet, high fibre diet, don't eat this, don't eat that - I've tried it all and nothing stops the dreadful cramps incurred by DD. My cramps/pain occur in the left and right side and in the lower abdomen, every day is hell for 4-5 hours after visiting the bathroom. 'Experts' ? I have no time for them !

@@Walkingkarma64 Hello, all I want is something to take immediately the pain begins but my doctors say there is nothing and they insist on giving me a course of tablets. This is not what I need - trying to explain to them is impossible. If one has indigestion you take something for it and it soon goes away, so why is there no answer in the case of DD ?

@@jeanlilymanwaring7125 I'm searching for that to, I found L-glutemine helps heal leaky gut but can't take it long term. So I just watch a video today a lady that suffered like us is using apple cider vinegar capsules 4 a day along with Activia so I'm going to try that. She said she's beat it that way. My opinion Dr.s only had out pills with side effects, they've never had a pill that heals. I'm also getting away from preservatives and antibiotics in animals. I pray that works.

Thank god this vid helped to DEBUNK the “No nuts, seeds, corn or popcorn” mantra, which was based on ONE single study from 40 years ago…with no back-up studies done EVER! Of course… because each of us is different, someone out there may actually have an adverse reaction when eating 😅 items…so then you rule those particular foods from your diet! I would be so sad if I couldn’t have my daily popcorn snack - there is so little else to enjoy in my food life because of this dumb condition! Just everyone… Take care and be mindful of what goes into your body! Because I’m finding more and more that the doctors of the world are not on our side!!

Got diagnosed with this sorry ass disease two years ago! I have flare ups often, but what has helped quite a bit is taking Slippery Elm and Marshmallow Root Capsules. Also, taking a peppermint capsule before each meal. Drinking Green Tea, Chamomile Tea and Hibiscus has done wonders for me. Mind you, I have to do this every single day. Considering surgery just so I don’t have to freaking suffer anymore! Doctors aren’t much of any help either. All they suggest is a diet that doesn’t work!

@@Holabella SCD Essential Probiotics. I found them on Amazon, but Walmart might sell them. Kinda pricey, but they work for me. Make sure to get gluten free and dairy free! While taking them, you might experience some gas and bloating, but once your gut adjusts to them, you’ll start noticing the difference. It took about two months for me to notice the effects. No mention of antibiotics. Why? Doctors have put me on antibiotics three times in the last ten months, including now as I write this, to treat attacks of diverticulitis. Two more flare ups I’ve been able to treat without antibiotics. The first attack was the worst. Hospitalized for eight days. Perforation, abscess on bladder. INCREDIBLE PAIN! This is also the first video I’ve seen stating corticosteroids as a cause. If true, unfortunate for me since I’ve had to use a corticosteroid inhaler twice a day for the last fifteen years for chronic asthma. It has saved my life, I can’t do without it, but is it now causing a serious problem in itself?

Started getting pain in my butt as well as my lower abdomen. Also noticed this attack is hurting me when i need to pee and my bladder is full. Very painful. This is now my 7-8 flare up. I was hospitalized 2 times and put on antibiotics. I actuallyhad some lwft over cipro and started taking it 2 days ago in hopes it will get better. Flaming hot peanuts and a double cheeseburger is what i ate the day i started feeling pain. Seems like the mix of peanuts and red meat on an empty stomach seem to be what triggers mine.
