Thank you. I was hospitalized in January but wasn’t properly educated. This has been the best comprehensive video I found on the subject. Thank you.

I think I have gastritis because of symptoms I am having i.e. stomach burning pain. My primary put me on 20 mg protonix. My question is how does when get off this ppi. I have read you have to wean but doesn't say how. I was told by a friend who was on for six months ti just stop. I have been on almost four weeks and my primary doesn't want me on longer than six weeks. Will I have rebound burning if i go off. I tried one day off one week ago and had to go back on the next day. Any advice is most welcome and thoughts on what I have shared.

There is also a video on reflux. Although perhaps we can make a video on weaning from PPI. I agree with you, ideally we dont want to be on medication unless we really need to be!😊

How do I get me being healthy and getting rid of diverticulitis without having surgery and wearing a colonoscopy bag?

I was diagnosed with mild diverticulitis after my colonoscopy at age 61. I was in shock. I eat healthy meals, eat high-fiber diets, drink water, green tea, exercise daily, and hike up high-altitude peaks. My BM is regular. Sometimes twice a day. Sometimes I will have very mild BM discomfort before using the bathroom. How on earth did I get diverticulitis? It could be stress, age, seeds, nuts.

Definitely could be a genetic component + stress. Many many people get it with age - unavoidable to a degree. Most certainly not nuts or seeds - I actually have a video on that topic coming soon. Hope you are doing well! :)

Same for me, I was shocked! I’m thinking I’ll up my water intake though, I’m at 6 glasses a day. I’m almost 69 with my symptoms. Found during scheduled colonoscopy. I exercise, low bmi, vegetarian

I went through the same thing after I had my Gallbladder removed. Now I have a appointment with my gastronologlist. I hope my appointment will go well I have been struggling with diarrhea. Ever since I had my Gallbladder surgery. I don't know what to do about this at this point. I can't stand that weak and unsettled feeling in my stomach. I go to the doctor to get well not to get more sick. I was already sick but I get the Gallbladder surgery done and then I'm worse then before in other ways.

Other medical experts mention we shouldn't eat high Fiber meals

I have may issues with recommendations for fiber from foods. Most of these food items are extremely high FODMAP foods and therefore not recommended for diverticulitis. For the record I am nit a medical professional, have no medical background, in fact no doctor after countless lab work up and ultrasound, CT scans, upper GI, and colonoscopy did not find the answer to my sometimes unrelenting intolerable pain. I diagnosed myself 3 mins ago after every medical professional failed in their diagnosis. I am in a FODMAP based eating plan for 8 weeks and then slowly introducing foods to see what works and what causes pain.

Im sorry you have gone through the issues you mentioned. It doesnt sound like you have diverticular disease if it didnt show up on a scan or colonoscopy. Im glad the FODMAP diet is working for you! 🤟🏻

Did you miss the bit about diverticulitis vs. diverticulosis? It was explained quite clearly! Also at the end he clearly stated high fibre diet for diverticulosis and low fibre when having a flare of diverticulitis! Also, quite unwise to diagnose yourself when all tests come back negative.
