That would be tough, since this game was originally released for Rock Band last-gen. And if that wasn't the case, not only do they have to get the song rights, but they also have to get the rights to using the characters and create it's own set featuring the characters.

(I put the question mark there because I don't know what to call it) I understand that Guitar Hero was trying to reach a new approach after the failure of Guitar Hero 5 years previous, but I prefer the color coded notes, when I was playing the demo at GameStop I was confused at what the hell I was doing.
