Sitting in a warm fluid after doing stalls... That just sounds like my first time experiencing an uncoordinated departure stall 😜

Pretty much describes anything involving my first time doing stalls and spins for me.

Great video Elliot, BUTT...

You produce exceptional work, so thank you for that. Not sure we needed just the edited replay, and although humorous, just perhaps you could have included some of the post flight issue identification and resolutions. For instance, how you assessed where the point of leakage was in the system, its probable cause, and its resolution (repair and proof test); also just how much fluid was lost, (because your flight suite could have absorbed a significant quantity- besides sitting in a pool of flamible hydrocarbon solution and all of its associated issues - flame and potential skin reactions) and then the efect the level of loss potentially had on the system and its reserve, that would have been an interesting learnings. addition.

Thanks for the note. We are trying to deal wth the fact that most folks have trouble bellying up to an hour long video. So I am trying to use these clips as introductions. Thank you for watching the long videos, and my apologies for the confusion.

5606? I'm allergic to it. Would have been a really fun flight...

Elliot, would you have been able to lower the gear manually had the hydraulic system not cooperated? I’m not real familiar with this aircraft.
@utopiasnow3 жыл бұрын
Short answer yes. There is some risk that it wouldn't cooperate, but it likely wouldn't be a problem.
@SkylaneGuy3 жыл бұрын
Yes. Gear should free fall on this model once you open the valve between high pressure and low pressure side. There is a gas strut to assist the nose gear. Very simple system.

Just curious Elliot, how tall are you? I’m 6’1” and just barely fit in the 320/360. It was tight enough to stop me from shopping for one as my second plane. I always thought something could be done about the seat padding, but that last shot in your video makes me think otherwise. Keep up the awesome videos!
@utopiasnow3 жыл бұрын
I am 6'2". It's tight but a motivated pilot can fit in a lot of stuff. Thanks for the kind words!!
@SkylaneGuy3 жыл бұрын
I am also 6’2” and I fit in mine just fine. The bottom seat cushion is fairly thin, though.

Did it require a parachute repack?
@utopiasnow3 жыл бұрын
Great question short answer no. Long answer there is a flange that the seat back sits on that holds my chute up off the floor. Thank fully.

@@utopiasnow I don’t know what kind of fluid that is but if it’s anything like the stuff we used on Dash 8s... it hurts your skin, and do not get it in your eyes. Working underneath the gear on those airplanes it would drip on you... and we were always told whatever you do don’t get it in your eyes.
