Don't think De-neuralizing reverses all Neuralizations, only the most recent one. As a user from a reddit post stated, the human brain works like a hard drive, when a subject is neuralized it sets the memory for overwriting, so more than likely that block of memory got erased by new memories, or corrupted to an extent. That's why he left himself clues just in case.
