Thank you soooo much for the first part where you SHOW how much the blades take off! I'm a newbie and couldn't find the answer to my question until I found your video! Thank you.

My girl!!! Thank you so much for explaining this! I have been wondering for so long what all that meant. I do summer cuts on my Great Pyrenees and I have always used a #10 and it’s too short so now I bought a #7 blade to try and from watching this video that seems to be exactly what I like. Thank you!!!!!!! You rock!
I have a shih tzu and every time I take her to get her cut she comes back not the length I want so then I have to grow her hair out and then when I have to take her back in, afraid I'm not going to like it. So you showing the length really helps so I could explain better..... Thanks again. And she literally doesn't have knots ever because I love brushing her.

Hello from Sydney, Australia. Watching you struggle and strain to hold up a heavy dog made me think of a possible solution. Using your overhead leash holder, have a rear end leash around each hind leg, coming together, and supported on the overhead leash holder. The leash around the dogs hind legs would be of a comfortable material so as not to cut in too much. You could even have a full body sling for seniors, etc.

Do you see a difference in the clean and evenness of the cut when using just the blade versus a guard?

How do his nails grow so fast? And the hair on his paws?
@pookeypuppy25303 жыл бұрын
Hi MP, I have found that dogs who live on carpet their nails grow fast. Also all the hairy pads are part of the breed. Hope this helps.

I’m curious about 2 things . 1) if he snaps randomly what would prevent you from using a muzzle ? 2) what is the use of the guard on the blade exactly? Thanks :)
@myfavoritegroomer3 жыл бұрын
1) use a cone head 2) give more exercise before grooming lastly, use guard to have a different length of hair on the body.

Why did they take him back to a groomer who kept hitting his veins? Also, I have a 10 month old long haired chihuahua rescue who is very frightened of people. I would like to have his hair trimmed for summer, but I believe that he would jump off that table and the leash would crush his trachea. I would definitely have to be there and help to hold him. It just looks like a dangerous position for dogs to be in.

I always try to use at minimum a.7. Because a lot times when u use a 10 its exposing the skin and makes the skin so much !ore vulnerable to sunburn,cold, cuts, scratches, insect bites ..the hair is there to protect the dog..always ask the groomer to save as much of the fur as possible. I think sometimes groomers get lazy and always use a 10 but its really not healthy. Unless of course the mats are all over and attached at the skin.then u have no choice..I rarely see mats that had covering the dog. I will just take out mats only if I tried everything possible to brush mat out first

I have a wahl KM10 it says for me to use a 30 blade with the guards. Is it ok to use my 10 blade with it instead?
@elleyou91633 жыл бұрын
I always use a 30 with metal guards. I’ve never used a 10 with guards because I think 30 gives a better cut. (I used to use 40 blade with plastic guards, but since using metal guards I won’t ever go back to plastic!)
