This is way better than cutting the wires, soldering the cut out VaTs chip in place and wrapping it in electrical tape.

Good video PJ! A little more expensive than putting a couple resistors in series, but definitely looks better to the laymen that don't know what the VATS bypass is just a simplified set of resistors using DIP switches. #Lockboss (not that it matters for this video)

I Have a 92 firebird and I don’t know the resistance, so I just flick one at a time and see which one does it? Also how does the igntion key still work after you unplug it from where it’s connected when you connect the bypass?

Normally the key would need to be inserted for the resistor to make physical contact to complete to circuit the bypass just hard wires it in

hi will this work forever ? i have a 04 Buick regal still starts and runs ok, but security light is on and code points to high resistants on the security sensor, looked around key area noticed a broken wire by the key ring, so one of the white wires. if i bought this and plugged it in i should be good to go forever ?. would i be able to put in a aftermarket alarm after doing this ? thanks much and god bless.

Will this by pass module work for 1996 Pontiac Grand Am Passlock-1 system. My keys show not having chips in the keys so I don't know if this is the way the car came or has been bypassed before. I have no way to read the resistor to set the correct number for module. Any help will be appreciated.

I have to do a 1998 Cadillac Deville Thursday 12/26/2024. I tried talking the customer to let me use the Gator he didnt want to because he is afraid that someone might bust his ign out and steal his car. I wanted to tell him no one wants your beat up 1998 Cadillac, Heck it isnt worth even putting a new ign lock in it. but what can I say its his money if he wants to waste it then Ill take it. #Lockboss

So, basically this module is a switch box that lets you select the proper resistance or resistor that matches the resistance value of the resistor on the ignition key. Excellant. Easier than wiring in resistors.

I have a 98 c1500 4.3. Security light on permanent. My key never had a chip like the one in video.turns on and shuts off immediately. What's my solution? Tried the 10 minute and 30 minute ordeal no solution.

If you're original key did not have a chip then my guess is you have something else wrong with the truck

Not a real bypass you either know the vats number or figure it out and then set it so at the end you're still sending the signal to the bcm(for cranking) and pcm(for injectors) it needs in contrast a real bypass would tell the pcm to stop waiting for the signal of the key and just activate the injectors without it

@@DarkEmpathy187 I had issues with the vats system. Security light would go out out after a few minutes of waiting initially. Now it won't go out at all. I bought the kit I'm the video and nothing. But also when I went to install it the ignition wire had been cut, but was loosely hanging to no resistors or anything

@@masonsteinert4344 I've come across a similar instance and what had happened was the husband purposely cut those specific wires to prevent the wife from driving the car .... LoL (wasn't funny at the time, but I digress) I was able to get it going but just took way longer than initially thought. But every car's situation is different. That's what makes automotive so much fun 😁

Picked up a 94 Camaro about 6 months ago (did not come with original key). About a month ago it wouldn't start. Found out the ignition wire was cut already. GM resistor pack I got didn't work. Would this product work still without factory key? Id just go through the 15 switches with a few min. in between and see what # works?

Yes. Try a Vats resistance every 4 min. OR there is a security light that stays on for the duration of your wait time. When that light goes out, try another number. (I try 7 first, then 11, then 15 down to 2) .... 1 was only used for the first 6 mo. when the Vats was first introduced back in '88 so don't waste time trying 1.
