I have 98 Buick regal ls 3800 series II. One day my car just stalled on me and I pulled into a parking lot and put the car in park and when I tried to start it I would turn the ignition key completely over and nothing happens. it doesn't turn the engine over or anything. Also something very unusual is it will not allow you to take the vehicle out of park and put it into neutral unless you use something to bypass that at the transmission linkage inside the car. Just trying to give you a small idea of the symptoms that my car is having. Had it towed to my mechanic. I had a new starter put on it and my mechanic also put a neutral safety switch and it has not remedied the problem. Oddly enough when he put the starter on the car started fine I pulled it into gear, I got about a mile up the road and then the car stalled on me again. Just as it had done before turn the key to start the vehicle and nothing just as if when you turn the key it put it into a dead short every time. But as luck would have it turned it over and it started and I kept my foot on the gas and brake and got it back to my mechanics and that's when he put the neutral safety switch on. Went to pick it up I started it started right up I went to put it in gear and it wouldn't go into gear so I shut the car off and when I went to start it once again nothing and I would like to reiterate each time when I say nothing I mean it does not turn the engine over at all it does not make a noise it sounds as if as soon as you turn that key that you cut off all electrical connection to the car. I would like to correct one statement that before I actually engage the ignition the car will make the normal dinging noises and the lights light up on the dash but as soon as you go to engage the ignition it's as if the car just has no power whatsoever. Oh I would also like to add that my mechanic had me turn my key to the on position and he got under the car and crossed the starter over but it didn't start. It would crank, crank, crank but no start. So that's about the best I can explain what's going on with mine. He told me that he thought it sounded like the security system was messed up somehow. if you could let me know if this is a security problem I would appreciate it. The car has around 300,000 miles on it and the engine and everything is still strong and I'm sure you're going to ask me if there are certain lights that are on or off on the dash and the truth of the matter is from day to day you can't tell what light may come on in that car I've had just about every light on the dash in some sort of sequence since I've owned it. So just letting you know that when I bought the car there was a lot of different lights that stayed on like the brake light low coolant lines and a few others and cure and including the security light at times but it would just be solid red never affected the car from running or anything. So that's it I hope I didn't confuse you too bad I'm just trying to give you a list of the symptoms of the car because it's about to drive me crazy I mean I'm talking to a stranger on KZbin for God's sake. Lol

1999 K1500 suburban ..if the 'security light' on dash is on ..vehicle will try to start , but shut back down. Once the 'security light ' goes off, the vehicle will start. I took it to local chevy dealership and was told it was a P1626 code. Said they couldn't get the part but give me a couple part numbers. One part # (pass lock sensor) - 26049449. The other part # ( module) - 19352768. I want to fix the start issue. I don't know where to look to find the problem part to remove it. You know anything to pass on ? Thanks

If the vehicle is running all you do is unplug that turn the vehicle off thin start it back up every time fine it kicks the vats out for good

Hey have you figured out a solution for your 93 LeSabre? I have one also and it's been letting me crank if I turn the key to the opposition wait till the security light goes off, then turn the key off then back on and it'll start. But it's not doing it right this second. Have you figured out another way or have you bought one of these and has it worked

I see Passlock, Passkey, VATS, and PK3 tossed all over the interment when it comes to the GM in my particular car. What would I need for a 1997 Olds Achieva with the 3.1 engine? My key does not have the resister in it.

your car may not have this style of security if you don't have a resistor key. I would check around the column and see if a previous owner has bypassed it and then can use a regular key.

So I went and replaced this security module with a key that matches it. The resistor in the key is good, the Pass Key light is off, but the engine turns over and the fuel injectors don't fire. So are you saying that, even with the light off, Pass Key is still locking the motor out?

My alarm goes off without touching the car. 95 Riviera with Ua6 security system. I checked the door switches and they are ok. Does this module control both key fob door locks and the tamper/alarm system? What makes the horn blow and the lights flash out of nowhere.

This does not have to do with the keyless entry or alarm system in the car. There is a module for that. Module is located under the rear parcel shelf.

My 99 saburban has been dying while driving....think was a loose battery connection cause it didn't stall out for over 20 miles ...BUT....when parked and sat a day or two battery was dead......took bad battery out ...bought new one and bingo security light constant on and would just start and die immediately.....tried all jumper wire bypass...even purple wire ground out video to completely do away with box but all fail......then opened up my box and has a burnt spot so I assume it is bad and if box is shot nothing else works.....question is vehichicle has only keys without built in rezister (non factory key)....and was running fine till I guess box burnt out....so if I buy your box can I still use non rezister keys ...or will I also have to get a new switch with a new Factory key ?

This style of security does not use resistor style keys, and if you buy one of our boxes you can install it, and do the key relearn as detailed in the video, it will work.

@@thevideogamerepairschooles1246 The 2003 Century does not have this module. I would look into replacing the BCM, or the PCM. You need to conduct continuity and power/ground tests before hand.
