Just ran across this series of lessons, and they are very basic, enjoyable, and inspiring. I'm 71 years old and want to do clocks as a hobby, just for my personal enjoyment. This has encouraged me to do just that. Thanks, Scottie. 👍🇺🇲

Brilliant - that's a great device. Coupled with the cable ties - simplicity and ingenuity. Thanks Scottie - I'll be making and using this on the E. N. Welch clock that my son in-law has asked me to have a look at.

I’ve got a Sessions Gold Star mantle that I bought over five years ago to “restore”. Much to my disappointment in all that time the only information on the craft was really only available from a text. You’re Lessons have taken me from a novice to an unadulterated know-it-all of clock movement basics and repair.

A great alternative to buying an expensive spring winder. 👍👍👍

@robertcloosterman9336, Hi Rob, this method uses a bit more concentration and elbow grease but it works just as well. Unless you are repairing clocks commercially for the general public it is hard to justify the prices charged for professional grade tools.
