Is that beat from the clock step metronome? Been wanting to get this but with bidenomics it's been impossible and I've been putting off learning midi I'm slowly learning.

No, CLOCKstep doesn't play any beats, it'll only send metronome data. Those sounds are from an off-screen sequencer.
