D/W/D is blowing my mind - so good!! But how are you routing and mixing the stereo outs from your wet effects? Panning both center (which means the guitar needs 4 channels total)? Or collapsing the stereo output down to mono and panning that center? How do the wet effects get from the board to the mix?

Nice job w effects and playing. The chorus (uptight) is a little off however from the record. Use a 12 string and walk down the D, C, G chords starting w A On G star down to C/C# all while hitting the D (B str) alternately. I know they used a 6 string live but you also might be able to use an octave box to simulate the 12 str. Sounds sweet otherwise!

So, if I used 2 delay pedals in series with a reverb and one on delay would give me a 3 guitar overlay effect, correct?

I'm not sure what you are asking, but using 2 delay pedals in series is going to be a problem for trying to divide out 3 independent signals, if that is your aim.

Come on. Now you try to make a story out of it. The interviewer knew your story and then asks if it is true. Nuno doesnt know the story and said he wanted to fact check it. Now going after the interviewer is a little cheap from you. Do you want to generate clicks or what? I understand that you are offended about the claim that your story is a lie and your both videos seem to prove that the 4N was your guitar but if you want to blame anyone if at all - you should blame the guitar builder or Nuno, not someone who asks if the legend is true...
@jmkmusicpedals
@jmkmusicpedals 2 ай бұрын
Come on. Where did that interview leave it? IN DOUBT. That's right. I simply used my own channel to set the record straight in response. I'm providing those additional facts along with the reason why I was compelled to provide them, which explains the tone in my response. The number of views is meaningless to me. I don't run a click-bait channel. I only care that my response is available for anyone who wants to find it, and that it can't be removed by someone else. I'm not anonymous. I run a company. It's important to me that people know I'm being honest. Bottom line is the interviewer didn't simply ask a question. If he had, there would have been a different tone to all this. He stated it as a FACT that I had made it all up 5 years ago, and he only expected that they would confirm it. He didn't think for a second they wouldn't go along with it. And I was glad to see Nuno, who was being put on the spot, not go along with it after being so primed by the Interviewer. Why should I blame Nuno for anything? Why should I blame the builder? That's what I would have done if I wanted "to make a story out of it". But if they aren't familiar with my story or the guitar's exact history, then how could I expect them to contradict the interviewer in real-time? I think Nuno played it exactly right.
@dr6849
@dr6849 2 ай бұрын
@@jmkmusicpedals I understand that you dont wanna be called a liar. But I still dont get why you try to blame the interviewer. Same as him I saw your video years ago. Same as him and as you I am a Nuno fan. I own a 91 N4 as well. So when I saw the interview video I was interested if the origin story of the 4N is true. So asking Nuno that question is totally legit. Nuno seems to not know the whole story. He is in doubt. So of course the interviewer believes Nunos story. I would have done the same. The interviewer comes to the conclusion that the story is a lie but Nuno wants to fact check the story. Some hours ago I watched the interview part again. You can see an edit in the video - so they seem to have talked a little more about it. The interviewer quickly explained the legend after the edit... I totally understand your point. If those pictures of your guitar are real it is obvious that the 4N was your guitar. But I dont understand why you blame the interviewer because he is getting the wrong facts from Nuno and the builder. Dont be a Nuno fan boy. Blame all 3 but I think the interviewer is the last one of the 3 to blame. Because he uploaded the video he is kind of responsible but the infos came from Nuno.
@jmkmusicpedals
@jmkmusicpedals 2 ай бұрын
Yes, I do lay this at the Interviewers feet, not because I'm a Nuno fan, but because of what I saw and heard when the Interviewer took it upon himself to proclaim my story a lie. And then he let it go unresolved. You know what? He could have done some fact checking before editing the video and releasing it. Was it a live stream? No. I'm not going to make any guesses about what happened between one edit, and I'm not combing over it like it's the Zapruder film. The only fact I actually heard Nuno say was that he got the guitar from Steven, which is 100% accurate. So again, I don't know what I'm supposed to "blame" Nuno for. Is this a bad job at trying to instigate something? I don't get it.
@dr6849
@dr6849 2 ай бұрын
@@jmkmusicpedals You have some points here. On the other hand the interviewer doesnt have to fact check the Nunos answers. The interview is just about guitars and when the manufacturer of that guitar doesnt know enough about the origins of that guitar, it isnt the interviewers fault. I just watched that interview bit again. Derek (the interviewer) talks about misinformation about that guitar. At that point it isnt clear what misinformation he is talking about. It still could be about what exactly is the difference between the 4N and N4 and this could be a Washburn communication problem and due to that, there are speculations on the internet. Then comes the edit and Derek sums up your story. If you look on the faces of Nuno and the builder you can see that they are confused about that background story. Honestly i think it is pretty weak that Nuno or the builder hasnt heard of your story and the origins of that guitar yet. Your video has enough views... I have no doubt that your story is true. I hope they fact check the whole thing and we´ll get the whole story very soon...

That interviewer came out as a hack - it seems as if he said those things only to suck up to Washburn and Nuno. Clearly he's just cooking it up on the go - you can get that from how fast he's talking. On top of that they deleted your comment calling them out which is another level of vile - yes, vile. You're just a fan, not some con artist. Your story was never a money claim or whatever - just a passionate fan showing the guitar he bought when he was a kid, then lovingly modded, that eventually made it's way to Nuno's hands. No claim for spotlight, no need for fame, just pure passion. Unfortunately Washburn (or maybe even Nuno) doesn't seem to like the origin story as if it undermined something - it's not like it's 1980s, the Internet is pervasive and I doubt no one at Washburn has seen you video. However, the guitar is clearly the one - as Nuno wanted a raw or oil finished guitar, all of them have visible grain, which is like a fingerprint for guitar. There are NO two alike. All you have to do is just look at both pictures and compare growth rings and grain. These are the same guitars. I just cannot comprehend why Washburn (and maybe Nuno) seem so desparate to keep ignoring this - it's been like 5 years after all. It's such a cool story that could be used in the promotion material for 4N! Does Nuno worry it will steal his thunder or whatever? Like honestly something could - he's an accomplished, phenomenal rock icon FFS! I just don't know what's the deal. At least they do the inquiry and see for themselves whether it's the one - that would be fantastic! Anyways, thanks for that fabulous story!

Was my initial response removed? I don't even know. It's fine, this video response is what I'd rather have endure anyway. I have wondered if telling my story was unwelcome from some business angle. After making a big deal of the neck profile themselves at launch, maybe having my story come out later as, "just some dumb kid who sanded it a lot", doesn't quite instill the premium message they were sending? Or maybe they just didn't look closely enough to believe me? (they would have to conclude the story was true if they did look closely, there's no other choice. I documented it too well, not even knowing it would come up again some day). The question you raise of Nuno ... I could be wrong, but I honestly don't think he cares enough to either be offended or amazed by the story. I doubt it moves the needle for him one bit. He would probably just recognize them as facts, not enough to illicit a response without being prompted the way he was. He's got the guitar and wants to play it. For him that's probably all that matters. Thanks for the kind words!

It's a shame that neither Washburn or Nuno ever included that story in their promotion of the 4N - an N4 guitar purchased and lovingly modified by You, that eventually made it's way to Nuno's hands just to become his main axe (partially due to said mods). That would be such a cool thing - isn't it what signature guitars are all about? It just seems that both the company and the man himself would rather this story not to exist, as if you weren't welcome in Washburn's and Nuno's grandeur. Heck, even Your comment on the matter on the last video about Nuno's N4 story got deleted - the one calling the interviewer out for saying Your story is fake without any sources for the matter. Anyways, phenomenal piece or rock'n'roll history!

Thank you so much for this. I heard that the 2006 is the most coveted year. Is it because that year has both the string tree and those reverse mounting screws for the locking nut (back of headstock)? Agreed with what you said about the sound while strumming it acoustically and the comfort. I have played the Washburn N4/4N models on and off since the early 90s and was always a secret fan. Never bought one though which I regret. Money always tough though. 💯 A very original amd unique interpretation of the Strat shape. I still don't understand the whole "Davies" version though.

I have watched your OG vid a bunch and loved it, having 5 N4’s myself, I love the guitar. It’s CLEAR that your original guitar is what Nuno is currently playing. The MoS guy…is…whatever to me. There were definitely some pockets of awkward silence in the interview. I also didn’t like how they almost made it seem like Chris has been building N4’s forever. It just seemed like Shred guy was trying to dunk on everyone with some history, and I don’t doubt that Nuno is not aware of your history with the guitar, or what life it had before whoever he got it from. So he made the best response he could and said“hey I don’t really know”. But there was no need to just blurt out “it’s false and made up”. Come on man, what are we doing here?! It’s like all the N4 forum members (old Washburn employees included) just make up everything we talk about. Hell, I like this follow up video more than the shop interview!

I’ve rewatched and enjoyed your initial video about the history of the “4N” numerous times. I’ve felt that your story was extremely truthful, and that the video was created to inform fans of Nuno, Washburn, and N4s about the unique history of the instrument. I never felt that the video was made for your own personal gain, or that you weren’t being truthful. I don’t understand why Master of Shred tried to dispel your story like that.

Thanks. I don't know, it's like in someones mind they thought the story was better if no one had owned the guitar before Steven. Owner #2 is still out there. I know who he is (at least, I know his name having sent it to him myself), but that's his choice if he wants to talk about what he did with it while he owned it. Anyway, no one doubting my story was there with the guitar between 1991 - 2005. They never came to my house that I can remember. Having a YT channel and scoring an interview with Nuno doesn't mean he can just declare what he wants and it becomes fact.
