Even if the downstream pipe was cleared first, with that much pressure behind the backup it would still explode unless the caps were replaced seconds before the flow hit. The open access ports are the path of least resistance unfortunately. If they had a chamber around the U bend, like we've see with most places on the channel, it would've been fine. Nice video job and thanks for being willing to do this sort of work.

I think most people mistake drain clearing with drain cleaning. You clear it and go @ 49.95 PER line. The scale is still there, the pipe still needs cleaned (descaled), you simply make the water flow again through a small hole your cutter creates. It WILL stop up again, and if they continue using wipes it will not be long. Sharp scale "hooks" the wipes and they just stack up.

@mattcat2314 жыл бұрын
@@MARKE911 the theory to a house trap is to keep sewer gas out of the house from the mains. In the town i live in, a few years ago there was a gasoline tank leak from a local gas station, and for the most part the traps kept the vapors out of the houses. At one of my rental properties, there is no trap, and on occasion it will stink up the house, even with a vented system
@jeddavis84684 жыл бұрын
I know Philadelphia and other cities in PA have curb traps. San Francisco, CA has them too.
@REWYRED4 жыл бұрын
I am in Hamilton Ontario and some of the houses that were fed from combined systems had a main house trap and / or a floor drain with a trap that picked up the weeping tiles and rainwater leaders and downspouts. In the 60's through to the 90's when houses had separate storm and sanitary sewers run to the house only the storm side had a trap and the sanitary had none. I guess in both instances this was done to prevent sewer gas and odor from eminating from rainwater downspouts and their connections.. Now you wont find storm ran to the house, but to the side to pick up your sump pump discharge, rainwater leaders are to discharge on the ground where they cause flooding and foundation issues😜
