Nice! Everyone needs to give a nod to Ratty and Ollie when on the job. I was working on my own blocked drain recently (totally alone) and laughed when I automatically put a piece of corn aside and said "That's for you Ratty".

I am a water/wastewater Utility employee and oh the things I have seen in the main sewer pipes and at the lift stations. The wet wipes and tampons are killing the system. They are not flushable. They keep us busy. Not so much anymore but cigarettes butts was a major problem earlier in my career. I swear people would flush entire trays of them down the toilets at the night clubs and bars. Great video. When I’m not scoping/jetting out main sewer lines. I’m watching videos here. Props to Australian Ratty. Got a new sub.

What gets me is that everyone thinks that because the pack of wipes says flushable that means they will be ok to use and flush when the real meaning is that when you flush them they will go down. Ive had more tenants complain about backed up drains and found it to be wipes than I've found it to be grease poured down the drains clogging them. Best find yet down a drain though was a wooden yoyo. That one was weird.

I think that large disk came from the first plug you removed, not the one that broke up. When you picked up the apparently intact one at 11:40 and showed it to the camera, the bottom disk was missing and the insides covered in gunk. It might have fallen off a while ago already.
@NYDRAINS4 жыл бұрын
Oh ok good eyes, I figured it had to come from one of the caps but I did notice it was embedded in the trap when I was trying to remove it and it gave me a hard time to dig it out and it was covered with a lot of muck, which is a usual sign that its been down there for a while.

I've noticed you pull and replace those plugs by hitting them with the hammer. Shall we just assume the threads are all worn out so that is your only choice?
@NYDRAINS4 жыл бұрын
Not really, its a better choice, its much easier to tap it on the side to pop them in and out, they are also a 2 part cap not one solid piece, so they tend to separate easily
