Very nice work! Pants cloning is one of the best ways to acquire new pants. Especially if you like coloured or printed pants - whenever I go pants shopping, everything in my size is black, dark blue, or sometimes dark brown, and the only prints are on pajama pants.

Excellent! I have a pair of pants that fit me SO well (and are very similar to these, so that's even better for me). But the brand that did the m closed before I could buy more of it. And I wore them so many times that they are now used in the "chub rub" area. So I want to copy them so I can duplicate them in different colors and textures. I might also try to repair the used pair to see if it can be done but I doubt it would work and don't know how to do it. For some reasons pants feel very intimidating to make. 😅 Thank you for making me discover a beautiful feel good song. Your pumpkin tart looked lovely and delicious.

Pants are such an issue for me. I've never found a pair that have all that I want and, because of that, l'm terrified of trying to make my own. So many small quirks required! But this gives me hope.

I've always been a little anxious to try it too, but i will say the no zipper made it A LOT easier, so definitely give it a try when you can!

Love these pants! Girl, I’m going to try and steal your style lol. ❤ I just love all the things you wear. Do you have any tips for short girl length proportion’s? I’m 5’2 and curvy and lately I’ve been feeling like my clothes are frumpy.

omg yes steal it! & as far as shorter proportion style tips, I would try silhouettes with a defined waist, with more fitted tops and slightly looser bottoms. Also, I would try to keep your trousers, jeans, or pants longer (below the ankle to almost scraping the floor), and for fit I would try a straight leg or with a slight flare. For skirts, I would keep to mini to midi length, & try for something with a bit of flow, but not a full skirt (not always, but just generally). Now i think anyone can pull anything off, but those are some tips I hope help!

Newbie apparel sewist question: why would you attach the pockets before the waistband and/or before attaching the pants panels together? Wouldn't it be easier to see it on before all the extra fabric gets in the way?

yes definitely, if you know exactly where you want your pockets to go, that is best practice. But i wasn't sure if i wanted to place mine exactly where the original pair had them. So i got to where i could try them on and then tried out a couple of options (i still went with the original placement anyway lol)
