Mary wouldn't look as aged but learned that she had a drinking problem. However, learned so many years ago that alcoholism is a vice which one inherits so she drank more than she should or else she would look a lot better due to appearance one would age quickly. That is sad because she was beautiful. Take for instance, Tanya Tucker - who is much younger that her peers she also was an alcoholic and aged so much I didn't recognized her. So, stay away from alcohol and cigarettes that helps age you more. Cloris Leachman and Betty White had lovely skin because they didn't drink as much, nor did they smoke. However, once you get to a certain age - it is hard to stay as attractive as one gets in their upper age. Fair skin -blondes, redheads and those of that fair head their skin ages faster, middle skin tone - brunettes or dark skin or blacks they don't age as quickly and as long as they eat well they will look even younger.

Mary didn't have an inoperable brain tumor at the time they gathered in this Video. You either failed to comprehend this when replying to my comment, OR you are being deliberately disingenuous in hopes of justifying your absurd & uncalled for swipe at God, or at me. I'm fairly certain Valerie Harper would admit she didn't expect to outlive Mary Tyler Moore, and that she is thankful that God has extended her life. My personal belief is that God leaves each of us here in this life up to the moment God has completed His work through us, and in that instant, calls us into Eternity.
@charlesjones6618 жыл бұрын
Try actually reading [for understanding] God's Word and specifically the Book of Job. All have sinned, the wages of sin is death, yet God so Loves us that even for sinners He Sent His Only Begotten Son to pay the only acceptable price to redeem all who will Accept Him, namely His shed blood upon the cross. Jesus laid down His life & proving His Eternal Power & Glory He Vanquished death by Rising from death & from the tomb, being seen of many He then Ascended into Heaven. God is not the Author of suffering. We are. God eases suffering, and if we will Accept His Son as Savior & Lord God will Give us an Eternity free of all suffering & pain.

You don't know if she had a positive attitude. Diabetes is a horrible disease. Sometimes being ill can cause depression no matter how much you try to keep a stiff upper lip. She lived to be 80 years old, that is really good. As far as God is concerned, it was Mary's time to go. God bless Valerie Harper, hope she isn't currently suffering.

Cloris looks amazing for 87 (at the time). Poor Mary was blind in one eye and nearly blind in the other due to advanced diabetes. What an amazing group of ladies from a classic TV show.
@homegown1234 Жыл бұрын
One thing that is not brought up she drank a lot and that was a problem due to her parents were alcoholics. One has to give up a lot as a diabetes and unfortunately, it showed on her skin when she should look younger. Rhoda looked good and so did Georgia Engel. Cloris and Betty are the eldest but looked good due to diet and not drinking as much. However, the pitfall of age has a point where it will have its way with your body if not enough exercise and good eating habits.

I am kind of surprised that Betty and Valerie appeared together. I remember a Golden Girls episode in which one of the lines (uttered by Estelle Getty's character, not Betty's) made fun of Valerie's washed up career. Still, Betty was right there when the line was said, and if I were her, I would have insisted that such a line not be used about one of my former co-stars.
@irisfryer65318 жыл бұрын
OMG, I remember that line, i also wondered how Betty could just stand by and allow it, in the scene she looked kind of embarrassed about it, but not enough to object off camera.

I know it looked that way, but rest assured, with her diabetes caused blindness and the medications she needed to lessen the suffering - doubt greatly that she had any botex or other work done. For the last couple of decades of her life she never seemed to shy away from public appearances, even though her diabetes ravaged body showed the signs of this disease. That made me even more or an admirer of hers, that lack of vanity in one of the most genuine and happiest beauties in all of our lives. Bon voyage.
@dollyeifert97247 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. She didn't have her eyes tightened. In fact I've read you can't have plastic surgery if you are a diabetic. Her small eyes could just be apart of aging with diabetes. I've read that she was nearly blind due to her diabetes when this video was taped in 2013.
@helenaville59397 жыл бұрын
Mary had a lot of facial cosmetic surgery. Google it.
@SunDaze17 жыл бұрын
Once again, you may google to find other people's inaccurate assessment - diabetics married to a highly respected doctor do not have life threatening surgery for vanity - especially when her illness had kept her out of the limelight for decades prior to her death. And, you could not possibly have had any inkling of the woman in the least, she would no more have wanted any plastic surgery than would Meryl. So go google yourself.

Her eye's were lifted and her make-up makes it obvious. I saw a video of her in an airport, wearing no make-up and she looked very pretty. Make up can sometimes enhance the flaws (or in this case, surgery) so it becomes counter-productive. These women all look great though. Especially Betty White who only had an eye lift about 35 years ago. It was more for practicality than vanity. So for the oldest broad there, in my opinion, she looks the best!

Mary couldn't possibly look worse if she had not had all those cosmetic surgeries and just let nature take its course. This is what happens when an actress's life is completely centered around performing with little else on the side, and it's unfortunate. Except for a few like Mickey Rourke, men don't seem to feel so pressured.
