Thank you for posting a great review and putting the bikes through their paces. How confident would you be to take the Trail version on gravel roads and some light technical trails. Also do you feel the non switchable ABS is a minus when it comes to riding the bike off the pavement?

What made me decided against this bike is the fact that it only has 50mm rear suspension travel and doesn’t have a bash plate to protect the engine sump/exhaust. That ruled out any off-road riding for me. Check out the CF Moto’s 700CL-X Adventure. It ticks more boxes, uses a Kawasaki engine/gearbox and has a skid pan coming soon.

Can you scramble with the regular Lencino 800 too? I want to try some dirt roads with the regular one and I am wondering if this is possible with the regular 17 inch front tyre. Which one did you like more?

I'd install a skidplate and some DOT knobbies. Front and rear knobbies for 17" rims are available. If you know that you're planning to ride some dirt, why not just get the Trail version?

Benelli's, even the tiny ones, always sound fantastic. So you guys have access to the new Honda NT1100? Being basically an Africa Twin but with road wheels and tyres makes me think it would be us your alley.

We just spoke to Honda about jumping on an NT. Definitely keen to test one out.

You'll find they ride so much better if you use the engine torque & a higher gear rather than the 600cc 4 cylinder ultra high revs style. These bikes have very little at the top end
