I just had the most amazing experience with this song. My high school is doing this musical, and this was our very first sing-through altogether. So this is the first time we did this song altogether. I've been a passionate singer all my life, but when we hit the final part of the song, with all the parts melting together in perfect harmony, I felt more passionate about singing this than I had ever before. It was so beautiful. I can't wait to see how we sound when the show fully comes together. I've certainly found my favorite song of the show.

I don’t want to be that person but like this song is just so GOOD- And if you take out the hopeful parts and just listen to the rest- it feels like what depression does to a person. Isolates then, traps them and leaves them in the dark, mocks them, leaves them to wonder whether they’ll survive. But what does it matter? They’re only one person.

We did this musical at school about five years ago, back then, I don't think I really understood the meaning behind this song. Now after going through a lot of hard stuff, I finally realise the significance this song has in my life and how deep the meaning is. A beautiful song that touches my heart.

Andrew Lloyd Webber is a genius, and Donny Osmond has the voice of an angel. You don't have to be Christian to love this musical or get chills from this song; I'm not. That part where he sings "I do not matter, I'm only one person" resonates deeply with me. I suffer from depression and low self-esteem, and have felt this way sometimes. I always do, to some extent. I'm only one person, my life doesn't really matter. My friends and family would mourn me if I were gone, but that's about it. The world would keep turning without me, no one else would notice. I suppose it's selfish to want to be important to the whole world, I don't know. It's not that I want to be worshipped or anything, but it's sad to think that one day I will be gone and forgotten. It's sad to think that someday I will be only a name in my family tree, a footnote in the life of another.

@@RainbowEssence-c3w Bless you but l have reached and begged for help re professional it is them who turned me away and actually made me feel this worthless and just a burden, no money, too many patients, too busy, Mind support text did not contact me his reason he was too busy as it was "Mental Health Week" so he did not have time to text me, Crisis Team, one week support when my mum dies but not allowed to speak about her as it upset me was the condition, and even a crisis worker laughed when l O/D once and said l had taken the wrong tablets even told me the best ones to take, it is unreal the mental health system, yes l have had good ones and they really help then just as picking up usually left due to NHS red tape, so now been told can have no support discharged within 2 months of my last attempt to get out of this dark place told try harder, told only down to me, like telling a deaf person to listen harder, l worked for the NHS and seen it happen both sides, it breaks my heart

@@amandagraham4056 You are important. You are loved by your Creator. I know what it feels like to lose a mother and feel like there's no one to give that unconditional love anymore. I was a suicidal teenager, long ago, when there was no mental health counseling available to average people. The adults in my life didn't know what to do for me. It was only through my faith and prayer that I survived. In my thirties, I had clinical depression (or major depression). It was different from the depression in my teens, and it was Miserable. At that point, I knew that I would not take my life, as I was a mom by then, but there were many days that I hoped that I wouldn't wake up in the morning. I had 2 weeks in the hospital and an anti-depressant that at east helped me sleep better, insomnia being one of the causes. I still needed in-patient treatment, but it was unaffordable. Again, I prayed for guidance. It was more than a year later that I was functional. About 3 years later, I received a miracle healing. It was one of the few miracles I have ever seen. During the deep depression, I realized that as much as my family tried to help me, no one could save me. People will fail each other. I failed my kid during that time, because I had to leave to get well. During that awful time, I grew closer to God than I had ever been, and I found His unconditional love. I'm sorry to hear that you've had some callous mental health counselors. I've seen some bad ones too. When people are not the ones suffering, or have never suffered as you have, they can't have empathy. They don't feel your pain. It makes no sense that they would deny you the chance to speak about your loss. One of the things I learned in the major depression was that I had buried the sorrow of the loss I suffered in in my teens. I called it Unresolved Grief, and I needed to let it out, through journaling (a diary), prayer, talking about my problems (to relatives and girlfriends), songs, crafts, shaving my head (I buried the hair as a symbol of burying the grief and depression), and writing letters to those I needed to and then getting rid of the letters. A few years later, I got rid of clothes and some other things that reminded me of the depression, in order to purge and start anew. I thank God for my family members that helped me. They gave me what the professionals couldn't. Because I didn't let out the grief when I was a teen and the pain was fresh, it has taken many years. I hope you are able to express your grief now and not "stuff it." I hope you have friends to talk to. God bless you, Amanda.

I love this song. My dad went to support my mom when she was auditioning for a part in this play. One of the guys said, "Hey, why don't you be Joseph!" then my dad was like, "Ok..." So, he was Joseph and I recently went to see it and it now has a part in my heart. I personally love to sing this song and others.

I was Joseph in my school play I had an amazing voice and worked hard to get the lead. My school class also made me this amazing coat my teacher even spent hours after school to get it amazing. This brings back so much memories. My dad cried when he see me sing this. Only time he's ever been proud and seen him cry.
