Oh Tara how I have missed you 😭. Back from the islands and (of course) down with covid👎. But sooooo happy to be sitting here binge watching my favorite KZbinr ❤️❤️❤️. Looking forward to seeing what you do next, you are my breath of fresh air!!!!

If I had your skills, I’d attempt to alter. Or repurpose. I have spent more than a decade keeping clothes that don’t fit believing that “one day” I might get back into them, it never happened. Life is too short. You have an amazing talent, I’m sure you could turn it into something else you’d really love x

I really enjoyed this video. I too am a little more boobalisious, so I’m going through the same thought process. At the moment because, I have a pretty extensive fabric stash, I’ve decided to just make new outfits and revisit the ones that don’t quite fit next spring, which will give me more time to reduce my boobalosity, without pressure. I find if I diet with a deadline, I end up gaining. However, if I just take my time and be more conscious of my food intake and increase my activity, that extra lusciousness, become less luscious on its on.

Thank you for this fabulous and very wise feedback ~ especially the idea of revisiting items next season!

Dear Tara I was watching one of your previous videos about a coat you would like to make. I found a vintage Vogue pattern no.9093 which looks like the drawing you made in your notebook. All the best.🌿

You have some fabulous clothes. If you are comfortable in your skin then just keep the dress it's really not doing any harm in your wardrobe and it's there to look at xx

Loved this! Really related when you said 'these clothes I'm confused about' totally got that. That's how I feel around some of my pieces. Humm, so going to have a think about them. I was thinking about your pieces that have become a little bit tight. I was thinking about the KZbinr Bernadette Banner and her KZbin video about adding in lace inserts to help widen fabric, commonly used during the Edwardian era giving beautiful results. I wondered about that option. Anyhow love your channel❤️

I'm so glad you enjoyed it and that's a very good idea about the lace insertion ~ I shall look at that option. Thankyou!

Personally I go through my wardrobe and start by putting back the things in the order of fit and love, so the things I love and fit well go in first, going all the way down to dislike and don't really fit. There's always a repair and repurpose pile but only if I still love them and they will still fit. I also look at colours and style; are they flattering on me? I'm similar to you in build (boobylicious) age and with black hair but Italian looks so I suit deep winter colours - primary and deep colours (black and red being my favourites) Anything wishy-washy in colour goes. From my perspective of your wardrobe I feel the deeper and clearer colours suit you better too. Yes some of the prints are gorgeous but some of the colours don't suit you quite as much. What do you think? x

Thank you for your interesting feedback ~ your organising system is fab! Where colour is concerned, I feel it's such a subjective thing. Personally, I just wear what I love, what tells a story to me and what I feel amazing in irrespective of whether it suits me the most. I've been told by colour theorists that I should wear blue but on the whole blue makes me feel...well, blue!

You need a pencil skirt for your Greta blouses. I think pencil skirts and that type of blouse looks so fab together. 🥰❤

I gained a lot of weight after my surgery. I put all my favorite items in plastic bins to hold on to. 3 years I took off the weight. I now have a bin of clothing that is too large. Some items I altered to fit me now. And I unpacked those faves and wear them again. Weight fluction can happen as we age or even due to other circumstances. My suggestion is store your fave items and if down the road you do lose a couple of inches they will greet you with loving arms again. ❤ Decisions I made in the past I have come to regret when donating some items I wished I had stored instead.

Really fabulous advice thank you! I have so many things I regret getting rid of so storing them is a wonderful idea!

How to put this... I believe that if it is not triggering for a person to amend their diet to lose some "plumptuosness" then do so. By triggering I mean if you are struggling to know you are ok just the way you are, if you've had a scary relationship with food (anorexia or purging for instance), or if you are struggling with self-loathing. I am to the point where I love my body, it does such a good job for me, my proportions are me: unique. However, I notice that I hurt more in my joints, can't wear my clothes and get depressed, notice my breath laboring and my heart pounding, notice my blood pressure high and my A1C going up when I gain weight and eat less healthily. No one needs refined sugar excessively, fir instance. I feel better when I have loads of veggies in my diet, when I cut down on white carbs. Also, my body loves it when I swim, which is my low impact way to exercise. The things are gradually, healthily reducing my "plumptuosness" in a good way. Being very careful of your feelings about yourself, loving yourself, I believe it's ok, even healthy to seek to amend your weight. Soap box done now, thanks. 😊

I have the same problem as you. I always pick up weight top side while from underbust down things stay small. It's so annoying. The last 2 yrs with corona hasn't helped with being inactive. I'm going to try and lose some weight, that's my solution. If I would succeed is another story...

Tips for if your weight fluctuates: 1. Always leave large seam allowances in your garments, so you can go in later to re-size. 2. If you prefer a very tight fit, use stretch velvets or knits so that the fabrics can mold to your body shape. Darts help create a good fit👍 3. Sale off the stuff you no longer wear, it is okay to let things go. Yes our bodies do change as we age-dieting will only lead to pressure & body dismorphia. Practice self-love….not dieting. You are beautiful no matter what size you are 💋 4. Our style evolves, our sewing skills advance and future us (next year) will probably want something different to wear around town-Let’s Be Honest. Slowly treat yourself to a few new pieces every season. Great thing about knowing how to 🧵 sew for ourselves. 🙌🏻✨ My Brain 🧠 is constantly filled with ideas and NEW styles I want to try 💕🫶🏽✂️ especially around the holidays.
