“Don’t feel alive when I’m sober, so I’ll drink myself to death.”
I am elated to announce “Party Monster”, the second installment of Aesthetic Perfection’s 12 singles in 12 months project. My most ambitious effort to date, “Party Monster” is an industrial rock anthem that honestly and earnestly details my struggles with drugs and alcohol. Mechanized drums set against swirling, tortured vocals explode into a bombastic chorus, driven by guitars provided by none other than Jinxx of Black Veil Brides and crescendos with a blistering solo from former live member Elliott Berlin.
The party starts on February 5th.

Lyrics:
I’ve found a way,
To feel immortal,
To feel alive,
I’ve found a way,
To kill the boredom,
Until the apathy subsides,
We all wonder where the cancer’s growing,
So close to hell you see the embers glowing,
I’ve found a way,
To be myself,
To free myself,
Oh don’t say…
Don’t say the party is over,
Don’t say that this is the end,
Don’t feel alive when I’m sober,
So I’ll drink myself to death!
Don’t fool yourself,
You sleep with serpents,
Although they bite,
Don’t fool yourself,
You drink the poison,
You know your enemy won’t die,
Have we doomed ourselves to live as servants?
One thousand cigarettes your lungs are burnin’,
Don’t fool yourself,
You wound yourself,
With your last breath,
Oh you’ll beg..
Nowhere to run,
Nowhere to hide,
I’m on my own,
Nowhere to run,
Nowhere to hide,
It’s all I know.

Unfortunately, these days it's pointless to shoot a music video for a song that's already been released. People just won't watch it. Plus, with the current situation it's really difficult to get together to make a music video. I'm afraid I won't be shooting anything until next year and not for any of the 2021 singles. 😔

@IAMDANIELGRAVES Thank you so much for this song. I used to struggle with horrible, embarrassing binge drinking that landed me in the hospital. Well damn. You always hit where it hurts. I think the apathy line really got to me. As someone on so much medication for pain and anxiety etc. I feel this way all the time. I was addicted to morphine due to a doctor happily throwing it my way for a long time. I am too afraid to live without my medication but know it messes up my head too. Makes me feel like a numb walking zombie, emotionally stunted and uncaring about anything. So yeah this speaks to me in a different way from recreational drugs. Doctors are always too keen to hand out the pills without looking deeper. What I would give to be sober... or free of all my meds. I feel like I'm being poisoned and live as a slave to doctors prescribing my addictive pain and mood meds. All to make me "normal" in the head. Makes me sometimes miss the morphine. With that I believed I felt happier. Alive. Its a beautiful piece of music and you a amazing person.

Dear Frosted Melon, I was in an accident, about, eleven years ago - or - so. I have three "crushed" vertebra and I can, certainly empathize with, what, you're going through. I wear, what's called a, "military corset" to keep myself from irritating the spinal nerves. Yeah, I've been there too. I was prescribed morphine to control the pain; but, I had the self-discipline to stop - cold turkey. Sure, I went through massive withdrawals, however, I understand not everyone can do this: The experience, was, Hell on Earth. I don't know the particulars of you case, but, I can assure you this is not the end. There will be a day, which, you will acclimate to the prescriptions, or, you could end the medications eventually. Hang in there ... ! You, must, be your own advocate, especially, when doctor's think they are god's. I hope writing this message will help you.
@frostedmelon4992
@frostedmelon4992 4 жыл бұрын
@@spinglasshydra Dear Hydra, thank you for your kind, supporting words. I often don't like talking about my pain in case people think I am looking for sympathy. I'm honestly not. My "lovely" father taught me "sympathy is in the dictionary; between shit and syphilis." Yeah, super supportive role model... (not). I also don't like talking about my issues because I always think other people have it worse. But my mum says "your own version of hell is incomparable to everyone else's". Its true. We can't share pain to make others understand it, just listen to people's stories. And your story is very poignant. It brings me hope that one day I can be completely medicine free. Like you, I have spinal problems which causes migraines every day. Even though I got off morphine, I am on other addictive medicines which... I can't help but wonder if they do anything, since I still suffer everyday. But, I will take your advice and look to the future. I'm too young to be living an apathetic life (as in apathetic to my own self), I want to do so much still. If Daniel can conquer his demons, though different to mine, I can conquer my own. Though sometimes I miss how the morphine made me feel at first, like I was alive rather than just surviving. Sadly that feeling doesn't last long and its not worth it. I changed a lot. Though sometimes I forget to live life now, I'm glad I got over it. Thank you again for your story. I admire you and find you amazing!

Yet again Daniel your versatility, it seems, there are no self-limitations. Probably, one of the most difficult things, anybody can do, is, to expose themselves through their "Art". It's astonishing the depth, the vulnerability, and the self-actualization within this particular song and has allowed me to rediscover those old emotions. 'Party Monster' is so powerful, meaningful, and purposeful: I'm just, not, able to find the correct words. I became a Psychiatrist, so, I could understand myself and help other's. A vast majority of my patients are "self-destructive" youth; searching, themselves for healthy outlets, in order to "deescalate" their rage and self-hatred. I can foresee this song will become a powerful "tool" in that aim. It's Simply Impressive -- Daniel.
