I live in anamosa iowa and work at the americinn hotel which Jill and John originally owned (they later sold it I believe 6 yrs ago) Jill spoke to the manager of the hotel and told her that normally for the year the museum takes in between 5 to 7 thousand visitors. This year in 2023, the year it closed, they had 33 thousand visitors. She decided to close it due to low visitor turn out and well, just simply wanted to start a new chapter in her life. It is very sad to see this place close tho. John owned 300 of those motorcycles, the other 200 plus were from private owners. The auction took in idk how many millions, some of the motorcycles alone were estimated between 180,000 to 250,000.
