I was in my fifties & realized l had socks that I had worn in high school (which I didn't think was that long ago 😂😂). I realized they were 35-40 years old so I got rid of them & got new ones. Now I love to get new socks & underwear!! You did a great job! 😊

1) I am glad you are safe from the storms last week. 2) At least 50% of my tshirts are “Nana” tshirts. You could always buy pillow inserts and use your old favorite tshirts as covers. And, they could always be used as cushions for your grandbabies. 3) I’ve been decluttering for the last couple of months, so it’s nice to get rid of old items. 4) I buy myself new underwear every few months. And socks, mine have to be white, clean, and in good condition. 5) I have knee issues so I’m feeling sorry for myself and the pounds are slowly creeping on. My husband bought me clothes once (in 45 years) and they were three sizes too small. 🙄🙄 Now he sticks to gift cards (always fit).

20 years ago I had my first daughter I was a single mom. Became a shopaholic spent through $20,000 inheritance and racked up $20,000 in credit card debt. Took me 10 years to stop and start paying off debt. for years, I would spend as little as possible, and to this day, I feel guilty, spending any money, especially on myself. Hello Jodi, I beg to differ, 9 pounds is a lot of weight. If you go to the meat section of the grocery store and look at a 1 lb. package of ground beef, it's a lot of meat. You lost 9 of those packages! Thats awesome, you should feel proud and great about that. And BTW, you have a great figure. Don't put yourself down, there's too many others out there that will do that for you. 😊

I'm on a low buy year and am focused on tidying up my apartment and decluttering it down. I've completed the kitchen area and am almost finished with my two bookcases. I've decluttered some books and decor items, cleaned and reorganized them. I'm not happy with how they look right now and am working on figuring out what's wrong. I'm letting that stew for a bit and moving onto the tv area. My cat Harry is a drooler. I'll be petting and scratching him and he just drools all over me and his chest. I'm glad I can make him so happy!

You could cut the old Cool Grandma t'shirt and fit it into a picture frame and hang it or set it on a table in the nursery. There are none of us as young married couples *unless we were born with a silver spoon in our mouths* that hasn't survived skimpy years. We did. I actually said to my sister once that I think we might have been happier back then. But I can say one thing, the grands are happy we are pass the skimpy years...I think our son is a bit jealous.🤣 I replace hubby's socks/undies once or twice a year. He would have no idea where to go or what to look for. haha. Like you I have a hard time letting go of clothes I know i'm not going to wear or haven't worn in years. And shoes? Oh my. You did an excellent job of tossing out! Decluttering can be stressful and send you through a lot of emotions.

Jodi, I like listening to Melanie at Hoarders Heart when I'm struggling to declutter something. She decluttered most of her things based on how anxious it made her feel and if it was making her too upset to get rid of it then she just didn't. And I've found that if I let something difficult sit for a while and then I come back to it, I can make the decision much quicker and more confidently next time.

I just went through all of my clothes and the ones that didn't fit or I wasn't ready to get rid of at the moment I just put in a tote, in the corner of my closet. That way I know they're there if I ever want them but they're not taking up space in my everyday area. Great job 👏❤️

I decided to give up junk for Lent. Meaning both junk foods and "junk" in my house that needs to be decluttered. It's been brutal, and to do it without chocolate is inhumane! The pile I have amassed in my garage is mind blowing. Was going to put it all out on the 13th for our scheduled vets pickup. BUT my hubby said there is no way we can put all that out , so he took some to Goodwill. Made me think of your hubby and the garbage! LOL!

Jodi, I'm so proud of you. It's so hard to let go of some clothes, they might have holes, faded by washing, lost their shape etc. but they are sentimental, someone very close bought them for you and they are special to you. The 'Sunday' t-shirt (very holey) I would cut the arms off and the neck and bottom off then glue three sides together and stuff it with an old pillow then glue the fourth side. Hey presto you have a cool grandma cushion. I've just finished my clothes declutter and found so much underwear that 'shrunk' during the pandemic 😅

Hi, Jodi! I can relate with you on weight. I gained weight in my thirties and had a great wardrobe and cried when I couldn’t fit into my clothes. I had to adjust my wardrobe and started to buy clothes I felt comfortable and that fit me. I had one bathing suit and after years of not going swimming I finally let it go. I don’t swim and I hate hot weather. I have gotten rid of high heels and only wear comfortable shoes and low heels. I too, love leggings. I would rather wear those everyday than jeans. I have two pair of jeans and one of the pair has the stretch fabric that I love. No more dresses! Have clothes to wear out that I love. Love the cardigan duster style sweaters. Hi Jodi, I need to lose weight while staying off my feet by June 1st to get the best outcome for my knee replacement surgery. I thought I could just build up the muscles around the knee to give it stability but MRI showed I have evolving avascular necrosis along with my meniscus tears. It is death of the bone which I have to remove or it will spread. I have lost 8 pounds so far but need 11 more before June 1st, want to lose more. I have it scheduled for the summer when I won’t be babysitting my granddaughter. Her birthday falls on Easter so I will have the party here. I’ve never been a clothes horse but it was fun watching you declutter your leggings. My. daughter could wear my Gunnesax wedding dress when she was in grade school. I used to be short and tiny, 105 pounds, don’t ask me how much I weigh now. Guess I am still short. 😃 Thank you for this video.🙂

Here's what I've been up to, you asked. I am taking a break at the moment. I generally follow the onion method, always redoing a drawer or cabinet or shelf as i move around the house. I also do the in the moment method, christmas boxes are getting put away, so let's see what didn't make the cut this year and declutter it. But we just finished a 6 week garage and attic redo. We have a tiny attic, but I was able to add more decking and put more "want to keep but doesn't need to be out" stuff. And a landing outside the attic. We have a pantry in the garage, I emptied it and organized it. Turned a cabinet that had held 40 years of crap into a paper goods, large cleaning jugs, general large home stuff cabinet. Need a new roll of plastic wrap, that's where it is, tissue box, trash bags. There was an empty corner so I installed a rack for all cleaning supplies, hooks for brooms mops and vacuums, need a dust rag or window cleaner, it is in the rack. Which let me clean out an entire cabinet of cleaning supplies! An automotive and project corner for my husband, a set of shelves for camping and outdoor stuff. A paint/chemical cabinet. We repurposed and reused as much as we could. We had a new washer and dryer coming after 20 years, so we pulled everything down and painted and my husband built new shelves and now we have room for 9 more bins. So after my break I will be going through closets and storage in the house to see what can move to the garage and free up house space for better use and useful storage. I'm so excited, but I also needed a rest after all that work. Because I also work full time and take care of my mom.

I am glad you are keeping your Halloween pants. I like them and I don’t usually like loud clothes. I have sizes 14 - 22 of dressy clothes in my spare closet. I am in 18-20 now, but I keep them because I hate to go shopping. If I like the clothes and they are too small or too big, I will keep them. My daughter always wants me to get rid of the too big clothes especially, but I have fluctuated in weight for so many years I don’t dare.

My husband buys himself socks and don’t like how they fit and I inherited them ! He bought me 2 dresses for my birthday and they were too small! I took them and exchanged them for larger size! Oh Jodi! I have to share this with you. I was almost finished with my spring cleaning and got the idea to clean out my fireplace. I have been putting it off and dreading it so I went out and got my shop back and started to vacuum inside my fireplace. In the fall time, my sweet husband took the filter out of the shop vac and didn’t have another one to replace it. I looked behind me and everything that I was sucking out of the fireplace was blowing all over my house. Practice not progress right? Anyway, after 3 1/2 hours of cleaning with my husband‘s help we were done I thought then I got up this morning and there is still dust all over my hardwood floors back to the drawing board. Thought you get a chuckle out of this.

Way to go Jodi! Congrats on the weight loss and being able to get into those leggings!! I had went thru my drawers right after Christmas since I was having my knee surgery I didn’t want to be embarrassed when my sisters would get something from my drawers. I just love well worn clothes - they are broke-in and so comfy! So went back to work yesterday - it feels so good to be back and my team was so excited. I work from home but to see all the welcome back, we missed you emails just warmed my heart so much. Well my lunch hour is almost over and have to get back - as always LOVE your channel and will see you next week!❤️❤️
