my goal this past year was to read 12 books and i ended up reading 53 which was insane… but i also did cut out television so i guess it makes sense. crying in h mart was one of my top books in 2021, it really stuck with me and listening to michelle’s music is a much more powerful experience now knowing her story. some other books i loved this year were educated by tara westover, song of achilles by madeline miller, little fires everywhere by celeste ng, and pachinko by lee minjin… all SOOO good.

I have tried three books by Colleen Hoover because her books always got good reviews and Goodreads awards, but they were never my cup of tea. I also read one of Louise Hay's books in 2021, "Experience Your Good Now". I used to listen to the audio version on KZbin many times but never reached to the end. Her soothing and calming voice just put me to sleep before I could finish. Thanks for the reviews, Jenn. "Big Magic" has been on my list for so many years too and I definitely should read it soon.

JENN. I just downloaded Storyworthy last night. I’m on chapter 3 now, and I can already tell that this is the book I’ve been needing and looking for over the last 5 years. I’m a writer, but I also struggle with feeling like the main character in my own life. Lots of my childhood has been blocked out, and I’m on a mission to uncover it! As soon as I started my Homework for Life page, memories just started pouring out. The part about the dad, dog, and underwear in the rain was the brick I was longing to be hit with. I’ll be reading for the rest of the weekend. Thanks so much for sharing and for such a convincing review!

I'm a huge Agatha Christie fan, but I'd have to say And Then There Were None is her most overhyped book. It just hasn't aged well. I'd recommend The Murder of Roger Ackroyd as her best, or The Murder on the Orient Express, which does actually live up to its hype!

Oooo I'll have to check those out! Thanks for the recs! x

R u kidding! 'And then there were non' is a CLASSIC, so it just will never age. Everyone has different tastes of course so I respect that but I'm genuinely surprised because this book is one that I never heard anyone dislike.
@nemene3 жыл бұрын
@@Swiftie3forever It's certainly a classic, but I think it's a case of the thing that started a trope looking less polished in comparison to the stories that came after. Also for me personally - no spoilers - I found the ending pretty disappointing. It felt like an interesting setup with a payoff that didn't deliver, especially in comparison to her other works.
