WHoooooa. I wasn't aniticpating on commenting on this video, but I felt this insane rush of adrenaline during one segment. When you were sat down with your loved ones at the table, having pizza, after your Eggie launch party... It has this strange raw quality that I can only attribute to real life- it felt super unedited. And that's not to say that your content isn't authentic!!! I just felt this tremendous connection: first I thought, wow, this is how she's living her life. What a thing, to just come home after your fourth launch of your clothing line, as a wildly successful young woman. You've reached such a beautiful stage in your life. You've a thriving friendship and got tattoos for each other. You've seen so much of the world and have already made such an impact in the fashion world. You're still trying to grow with all the books you read. You're eating well, having frickEN protein infused green smoothies in the morning post work-out. You OWN A HOME. You're getting MARRIED. I think it was just that shot of you around 16:18 that clicked everything into place: here's a young woman in her own home, with the walls she built, surrounded by everything she's made for herself. The plant in the background is flourishing. Above it, hangs a heartfelt memento. And she's sat at the table, eating, and captured in the pure, unabashed, beautiful grittiness of life. I feel touched, actually, to have seen this just now, and also to see how far you've come all these years. Relationships betweent content creators and their audiences can be really weird with specific intimacy and yet some disconnect, so I'm not going to make this out to be anything it isn't. But I am really thankful I found you in high school. And seeing this vlog, I wasn't aniticpating feeling inspired, but you always surprise. I was feeling so low the past few days, scrambling about to tie up the last few loose ends before the end of the school year. That snippet of your life by the table really put things into perspective for me. I'm going to push myself out of this rut and go forth and take what's meant to be mine, and get back to building the life I want for myself too. Thank you so much, Jenn. Hana Lee Honestly your mom cannot physically stop you from getting a tattoo, it's your body and your choice. I have 2 and my mom's against them but she doesn't totally hate mine haha. As long as you show her how much you thought about it and how much it means to you she can't really be mad about it

I actually convinced my thai mom that tattoos are cool, I showed her aesthetic and cute small tattoo throughout my teen years up until I was 18 And once we went to Amsterdam together and I got my first tattoo, funny enough she decided to get one as well with me ! If you freeze your bananas (without the peel) you can use them alone instead of adding ice! It doesn't water it down at all and I personally prefer it over adding ice. Love your tattoo!! I love wild lavender. You guys and actual wild lavender. It's always been my favorite since I've grown up with tons of it in my Mom's gardens.

And my Mom expressed her disappointed with getting tattoos just like your Mom 😂 I ended up getting 2 tattoos without telling. 1st tat were 3 baby elephants playing, representing my 3 boys. 2nd tat is Totoro! Ms Jennifer Dohee! :) i used to have a lot of piercings (i took out some and kept others) and also stretched ear holes (still have stretched ears). my dad was not happy about it either even though i was already in my 20s. he wasn't really bothered about it though cos he complained about it only on the day i had them done, but after that he seemed to have forgotten about them. i think your mum is just afraid that you will get carried away and get more and more tattoos in future, but i trust that most parents come round to it!

I do know how your feeling, I'm a Taiwanese girl who had a tattoo on my back last year and my mom was really upset and we had a cold war. But after I told her the meaning for me and I'm still a good girl who loves her very much and forever, we're fine and getting better than before! So I believe your mom will understand :)

GIRLLLL PREACHHHHHHH ON THE CULTURAL DIFFERENCES. I totally understand where you come from. People tell me the same exact thing, like "it's your life" but it's the cultural differences that really set us apart. My parents have the same views on tattoos. Jenn! I've been following your channel for a while now (almost 4 years now I think?) and it's always comforting to watch your videos! While I check your channel frequently and have watched all the videos, ironically, I've never subscribed to you or any other channel on youtube until now because I never really understood what subscribing would do hahahaha....but that's besides the point! I was curious if you ever thought of making videos where you style and do the makeup of one of your many teenage girl followers who look up to you and your fashion choices! Sometimes it's such a struggle to figure out a style or how to do makeup and while I've watched youtube videos growing up it's sometimes been difficult to apply the things that I've seen to myself. As someone who also grew up in an Asian American family I can heavily relate to the tattoo dilemma as well as finding my own separate identity from my parents or my culture or from my peers around me. You've also briefly mentioned the way that language gets in the way, and I can relate to that as someone who can't communicate in Mandarin to my grandparents or relatives the way I'd like to. We've never really discussed anything like style, or makeup, or identity, or mental health in my family! And while sometimes I'm grateful for that, I guess I've had to put the pieces together through the internet. Along with other youtubers I've been motivated to exercise by watching your videos to better my physical and mental health. I've been inspired by the close friendship and relationships you've built, and I'm always in awe of how candid you can be and able to put yourself out there to so many people. I've tried, and failed to do the makeup you've done by using whatever substitute I have at home. When you laugh it makes me smile and it feels so genuine! I feel a deeply visceral urge to go get kimchi jjigae or make it in the middle of the night when I see you eating it in your videos hahaha! In this day and age it's so easy to blindly trust that everything on social media is what peoples lives are constantly like even if we have the knowledge that they could be showing the best parts. You discuss when you're struggling with things or how you're improving, which is such a brave thing to do! I know it would be kind of crazy to organize and stressful and/or difficult to pick someone to style, you'd also have to open up to your audience in an entirely different way which is nerve-wracking and a huge commitment, but it would be so cool and I would be so grateful to see how young women growing up and struggling with their identity (and who are incompetent makeup-wise like I am) can be given a chance to see that they too can apply the things that you do in your day-to-day life, even if it's just for a brief moment. Regardless, thanks as always and I wish you the best!

It's better to activate the chia seeds by soaking them before you add them to the shake. You can just soak them for about five minutes if you're in a hurry instead of overnight. I usually do 1.5 tablespoon chia seed and 3x the amount water :) Love your tatt x

jenn as a chinese i have totally the same experience regarding my tiny tattoos and dealing with my mom's reactions... she was extremely upset and begged me never to get another. i just think it's so strange that they would think anyone would relate me to a gang/triad in this day and time and also considering the size and style of my tattoo. they are also worried about the image i project to other people (which also means they feel we have to live up to what people think about us, which is such a sad thing in itself)... it's just quite difficult to have them accept it which makes me feel bad to make them upset but at the same time i also want to be myself. also, your Eggie event looked amazing. you're doing so incredibly well. i am a few years older than you and although i studied hard and worked hard and finished my masters my life is nowhere as great... feel like i need to push myself more or explore other options... of course living in hk makes it incredibly difficult to afford housing or even a car... anyway thanks for another lovely video!
