Love the art and animations as always, CJ. Your videos are what got me into D&D almost 6 years ago, when I was learning the basic rules. I’ll give this system a shot with the pre-generated characters and some simulated scenarios. Due to the simplicity of the rules, you could easily turn this into a video game down the line, should you choose. Maybe even innovate the market by introducing a technology which lets you roll dice physically and have the results implement into the game. Praying your newest business (ad)venture goes well! - your local paladin

Still waiting for that Wuxia with Brandon Sanderson hard magic flavor, but any video about C.B.A. is still a treat.🤤

An interest effect with using 2d6 is that the outcome is much more biased towards the mean than with a d20. The chance of getting a crit success or failre is 1/36. But getting within two values of 7 has a chance of around 70%. This should make combat more consistent, which is good, but will also decrease the chance of high-rolling. It is nice to see that crits also happen when exceeding the TD by 4.

Would be interesting to hear the thought process behind going with 2d6 instead of 3d6 for the basic rolls.
@XanderHarris10238 ай бұрын
@@HenshinFanatic You could do 3d6 drop high or low for edge and setback instead of rolling 2d6 twice.

I'd love to have a go at this system but sadly I can barely find enough people to start even one campaign. Would love to see someone have a go at exploration/travel and combat encounters.

Hmmmm, a martial artist that can throw meteors at their enemies, do they perhaps have a motif of Pegasi😂 (lets see how many understand that reference)

Edit#2: Save youself some trouble I found the Unarmored toughness table and the minor mayor actions they where one character creation on the growth section! (I talked about not finding it here I just guessed that would be in the "related" areas but its there) I just blitzed through the playtest my brain straight up skiped the character creation chapter leaving me confused, that aside it looks really good! Resolving everything from an atk with a single roll is great! I got a bit confused with the "class-Discipline" divide completey misundertstanding the point thats straight up written "you lvl up your class not your discipline" and got a misconception akin to "class" "subclass" when its the other way around. Really enjoyed the lifeforms (its interesting but nice to see them not having much of an impact in combat making them primarly a role-play choice) but I get the impression some are way better than others, the Faunalians? (Sorry) the "half-animal" kemomimi-types get amazing versatility and arguably combat/adventure useful stuff like climbing walls and seeing in the dark + speaking to animals and humans get: a tool mastery, which dont seem to come often (tool masteries not the use of the tools themselves) it feels underwhelming in comparison to get "climbing equipment knowledge" vs "you can can climb everything even if you are naked" Elves having "see invisible creatures in a 10m radius" vs orcs "Be really loud" I have not yet experienced this differences in game so I dont know how impactful they might really be. But I already had a player at my table checking this with me and they were only interested in the angles (they are absolutely awesome I cannot stress enough how cool the *BE NOT AFRAID* feature is) but ended up choosing "custome" race for the extreme versatility of picking animal 2 animal traits + a minor thing. (I for one instantly got interested in the living machines their tool transformation seems generally useful and the eating weapons just sounds like awesome and a practical flavor) Also I am sure the writing itself is gonna go thru a bunch of iterations but I recall the chapter that explains combat actions and has examples of the situations has one where the "multi-target" shot (sorry I have not yet memorized the proper terminology and I am on a phone currently) targets a Bale wolf with 8 defense and a "wasp/bee"-thing with "8" defense but the wasp gets less damage and I pressume it was intended to show how a single multi target shot affects all targets with the same roll so a greater defense (the wasp) reduces the excess damage while the 2-3 bale wolf having the same def take the same dmg. Tldr; pretty sure its a typo there. *Edit2: it wasnt a wasp it was a sprite* I love the item/weapon list, but I dont know if I am blind or my english being my 2nd language is betraying me, I could not find the table for "Unarmored Toughness" armor type that explains the HP gain, I only saw that the character creation chapter said it was "20 HP" or something like that and the equipment chapter references a table instead of just saying "20HP" in the text portion so I didnt quite get that. *Edit2: this was on the character growth section* I have not finished reading the spells but if I got it right it looks pretty awesome to use some free time before encounters to make glyphs and save up MP in combat (although for some reason I can't shake the tought they cost MP to make but I cant recall reading that anywhere specific) Also... How many "minor actions" does one get? I see the character sheet has space for like 3 of em? But the video has only shown one in the examples and I didnt see a class/discipline (I havent checked casters I've only seen soldier, champion, brute, martial artist and the rogue half of trickster) gaining Minor actions, although pump-action weapons also imply having multiple. *Edit2: also character growth section* Edit1: I corrected some awful grammar but left the *angles* cause its funny, in the topic of writing mistakes just to let you know the Classes on the Channeler Discipline read "Dragon Soul" and "Vine"-something (the rose/judo martial artist) instead of the eidolon types in the table summary.

Humans get an additional item slot and an additional tool mastery which isn't bad even if it isn't "cool". Everyone starts with 8 slots which is plenty at level one but can come in handy at later levels. Tool mastery is useful for neutralizing monsters and RAW if cloudbreaker HQ sends you on a mission they will offer a toolkit of your choice to borrow so you don't necessarily have to buy two toolkits at character creation.

@@proxy90909 Not every system is for everyone. Public release of the digital version is tomorrow so I'm stalking the old videos. Humans are boring skill (in this case toolkit) monkeys like in every other system. There are three new lifeforms in the full version that make humans even more boring. I was just saying humans have their niche even they are boring.
@proxy909098 ай бұрын
@@XanderHarris1023 I don't quite mind humans being skill(tool?) Monkeys but I also felt that some other races kinda had less flavourful stuff than others regardless I still very much a lot of the things I saw in the game and am very much liking what I see for progression with martial artist (I have a thing for characters using "nothing but their fists/kicks" ) and what little I remember of the magic system for spells with getting elements and combos of the elements learnt + lvls to each spell was looking really great, so even if humans are kinda boring I dont mind, I have no issues playing everything else I found really cool, I am sure I will enjoying making a "nothing special all hardwork" human eventually regardless
