Even though a lot of effort was put into this apartment, there is no need to be sad because it is all about new beginnings and new journeys! I can't wait for new designs and explorations ❤

I think people should understand, that "temporary" doesn't mean you can't make it comfortable for you. Even if someday all your hard work is gone, because you're moving, you lived couple of years in a place you always wanted to return to. Everything in our life is temporary in some way so it's really important to enjoy everything that surrounds you today It was kinda sad seeing all this coziness gone, but where is an end, there is a new beginning, so congratulations on that new chapter!

I broke up with my boyfriend two weeks ago and we're saying goodbye to our rental home together 🥲 It was so small and I hated it, but now I feel sad we're leaving. And I've just bought an apartment which needs a makeover. So your journey reminds me of mine, just that I'll be going through it alone. I'm still very excited about my new home, so that's okay.

I think this is the most beautiful “moving out, saying goodbye to your previous home” video i’ve ever watched. It not only preps you for your next chapter, but also makes us feel excited for you for this new beginning. A tear ran down my cheek as you showed us how the rooms were so much lived in and now like brand new. But i also can’t wait to see what your new home will be. All the best, cherish each moment, bring us with you. Thank you, you make so many of us happy with your stories.❤️❤️❤️

Such a cool edit showing the beautiful before shots and the simple white after shots! It was a little sad watching you undo all the beautiful things I've watched you create but I think it's a great example to show everyone that it is worth making changes even in temporary spaces. You created a wonderful home there and I'm excited to watch you do it in the new space as well!

I've watched this videos several times since it's been posted! In Switzerland we are mostly renters too and videos like these are so rare but so inspiring for us renters because we realize that we shouldn't be afraid to personalize our home! I wondered how renter-friendly some of your diys were and now I know.. really, this video is a gem! 💖💖💖

I began to really hate my last apartment and neighborhood but I teared up a tiny bit when I walked out the door for the last time. My younger brother and I had lived there for five years and it was a good middle ground we both needed after our mom wanted her own place (rightfully so, we were in our mid 20's, lol). Now I live on my own and my younger brother lives with our older sibling until he gets on his feet. This was what I felt was my final step towards "real adulthood", being able to stand on my own two feet (erm...with a bit of help from my mom, lol. But 95% is my own doing). Such a great feeling, the excitement of a new chapter in life :) Congratulations again to you and Pat for embarking on a new journey in a new home!

Interesting.... In Holland the new renters usually visit the place whilst your still there and then you can discuss if they want (for example) the paint to stay as it is, or maybe leave the tiles on the balcony (most of the time they buy lots of stuff you want to leave behind). Only if they don't want it, then you remove it. So it's interesting to see it's different in Germany.

So nice to see this “undoing”! People always just show the doing part of renter friendly DIYs so you never get to see if they actually are in the end 😆 In regards to making big changes in rental apartments: Here in Sweden it’s very common to rent for your whole life, too. As of today it’s extremely hard to buy unless you already have a home to sell, because prices are high and the conditions for house loans are ridiculous. Now it’s almost impossible even for a family with two full time working, well paid adults to get a loan and you have to pay 15% of the home with saved money. If we bought something like our apartment we’d pay ~$350 000 all in all, and would need something like $52 000 on the bank to begin with. Instead we rent it for $550 a month. The apartment we’re moving to with our two kids would cost ~$500 000 and the rent is just shy of $850. We’ll be making some changes to our new place too, for sure! I’m actually super inspired to do so by your channel, so thank you 🥰🥰

Rewinding your apartment. Always good have videos like this show people how much work is to put back the way it was. I didn't go crazy with when I had a apartment. We didn't hang anything on the walls. The only thing they took was $10 for drip pans on the electric stove 😄. The only thing we bought for the place was just furniture (bedroom set, washer and dryer and a couch) my mom gave me her old family wood dining table (super heavy carry up flight of stairs that's was just the top legs came off 😄) and my mil gave us her old dining chairs. Have our own home now been 9 years still have all the times except couch so got a new one 😄.

It's interesting to see how things differ in different countries. In Australia, you basically can't make any changes without approval if you're renting. That includes putting hooks into walls for frames. We definitely wouldn't paint walls or put up shelves etc. Though, we also aren't required to paint when we leave, that would be an owner responsibility. Which is probably why so many rentals have scuffed up walls :P
@Lulu-oi9ue2 жыл бұрын
They rent for a long time in Germany even a lifetime so it’s their home to do as they please to an extent. They have to install kitchen cabinets that they want and then if they move it’s got to go too. I have moved soo much in Australia which isn’t common over their.

The buying your own kitchen in a rental is so weird to me 😅 But I like the fact that you are able to paint walls and such, here in Sweden most apartments have wallpaper and its not ideal to paint over wallpaper so im stuck with walls that I dont like, I can if I want change the wallpaper myself but its too much of a hassle. Luckily some rooms in apartments here like the kitchen and hallway has white painted walls so I painted my kitchen green. Anyway cant wait to see more makeovers from you 🥹
