I've only thrown a couple of parts out of a chuck before. It's usually not a big deal, but it's only a matter of time.

I like it a lot. I am looking forward to seeing it operational. I want to see yours grind before I start mine. You may want to plan on making more mounts in the future. Once a wheel is mounted, and dressed It is more practical to leave it on the mount. When I worked I had about 20 different wheels on mounts. They change faster, with much less dressing.

Yeah, that's the plan. Right now, I just have the one wheel as a proof of concept. Assuming it works, I'll be making more.

Yeah, that was pretty cool. I think at that point the tool was running around 950SFM, which is too fast, but I wasn't expecting the incandescent chips.

When you calculate the thread depth, does that take into consideration the compound angle? 0.040 on the dial would more like 0.0346 on the thread. Since 30 (29.5?) degrees is standard angle perhaps it’s already assumed.

It's a CCMT0602. The particular ones I'm using in this video are made by Kyocera. Kyocera CCMT060204-HQ Cermet Inserts: ebay.to/2QPV53h
