I completely agree with it being an exploit, not cheating. He is still having to keep rythym he is just using a closed button press and an open button press doubling is presses per second. I definitely don’t see it as any different than using a tablet. It is an unfair advantage based on technology. The keyboard wasn’t modulating his presses he was just doubling his presses so that they hit on press and release. You can legitimately do this with any arcade button with a micro switch and get almost the same exact result. Nobody has been able to demonstrate how the keyboard pushed buttons for him just that allowed a release of the key to count as an input which is something anyone can do in any game. In shooting there is something called a binary trigger which essentially increases the persons firing rate through firing around on both actions of the trigger on press and release. If you brought one of those to a shooting competition nobody would say you are cheating because the skills required for using that tricked out trigger create their own down sides. The fandom seems to think using a tablet isn’t cheating even though that is the same sort of technology reliant buff. As I said I am still waiting for the explanation that convince the woot keyboard company that it was cheating, because press on release is a technology that has existed in the arcades. So it isn’t some new technology that requires complex software.

The key deactivates when fully released, so a single keypress that should have been 2 events (actuation and deactivation) became 3 events (deactivation, actuation, and deactivation). If you want to reverse key logic, then the key should actuate even when he's not holding it down at all, which is unplayable without the DKS macro since the game only allows one input to be pressed down at any given moment. Tablets are not a technology buff and has been allowed since the games release because the game itself is a port of another game on the DS which uses the stylus/pen.

I wonder how many other speed players are abusing this. I just recently found a profile of some dude who was genuinely mid 5 digit, still had 100pp plays in his top 100 and set some low acc 400-500pp scores on 7-8* pure speed maps, praising the wooting in his profile. I'd bet my ass that dude was also using DKS. Kinda sucks since on one hand yeah, you could probably just auto-restrict whoever has DKS in the driver activated, but that'd lead to hella false-positives of people who just didn't know and were playing around w/ their settings without any ill intention. As much as I love Wooting as a company, they singlehandedly ruined the osu! rankings by making speed a trivial skillset. Sure, you might not gain that much from it if you're already insane (like aetrna for example) at speed, but a lot of people forget about all the 5 digits who suddenly rise to 4 digit+ with their shitty low acc speed plays on maps like ai no sukima.

It explains it. DT works by actually making the game go 1.5x faster, so if you press 42ms on no mod it will show up as 63 on DT. Same exact thing happens on UR. And why the number is so consistent? It's cause its the input wootility does on a key release (note how it's a release, you cant really affect hold time if you aint holding it, so it will be consistent)

You're making more inputs than movements which is cheating. If you want to stream 300 BPM you can't doubletap at 150 BPM and get away with it. You need to have the fingers fast enough to do it legitimately. It is not an abuse it's a feature but in osu! it's a strong unfair advantage since it reduces the difficulty of the game by many times.

It's possible he's lying about how he cheated to try save face by admitting to a much lighter cheating method. I don't know how this would explain it so that's my assumption. Edit: Apparently the 63/42 is explained by how osu calculates the time ingame. If the IRL hold time is 42 ms, but he plays double time, the 1.5x multiplier is also added to the hold time. Or something similar. So he probably did cheat using Wooting's settings.

to clear things up, the rule is: one full keypress must correspond to one in-game input. one full keypress is the press AND release of a key. doubletapping is essentially treating 2 keys as one, which makes cloutiful's method bannable since it gives two inputs for one full doubletapped keypress, on press and on release. a regular doubletap would have both inputs on the key press and not one on the release. this essentially makes streams playable as doubletapped jumps, which is obviously fraudulent.

He is double tapping od 11 300 bpm spaced stream with pitch perfect acc, and he can do this only cus tecnically he is double tappig with one key and between the two outputs of the SAME key there is a slight delay thanks to the fact that one output is generated by the key being pressed and the other one by the same key being released, giving him an infinitely better unstable rate in comparison to a real doubletap cus when u duble tap the outputs from your key are basically simultaneous thus making you hit the first note normally and the 2 too early, sorry if my english is fkn broken but it's not my language and im pulling am involountary osu420 thanks to uni
