I have been using this paintbox for over a year now and find it just as useful for everyday work as it is for travelling. It is light, compact and tough and better than anything else I have ever tried. You can even make notes in marker pen on the white flap that seals in the paints! Cleaning is easy and it even goes through the dishwasher for a thorough spring clean. I find the paints stay reasonably moist when all compartments are shut and there is absolutely no migration of colours from one to another. Much better than a ton of brass you have to wait a couple of years for.......

I just bought this paint box from Jacksons art supplies from UK. I am in the US. It took 3 weeks to get here but it was worth the wait. The box is lovely, perfect portable size and plenty of deep wells to mix paint in. It is hard plastic and even though it stains, no problem. Just wipe off with vegetable oil, I use olive oil, and the stains disappear. No need to spaend hundreds of dollars on fancy brass. This cost $39.

Gosh, I would love to test and review this palette. I remember seeing this video a couple of years ago and thinking it looked really neat-wish I’d gotten one of these cloverleaf palettes because I STILL think it looks neat!

Thanks for making this video; it helps judge the size and feel of it. I may just pop in an order for this, it feels like a lot of thought has gone into it. Price looks fair. One thing; my N&W tube paints dry out far too quickly (they are quite old and I don't know the shelf life of 5ml tubes).. I wonder how they will fair in this palette? (I've thought of sealable bags when I don't watercolour for a week).

I mix in two drops of honey and one of glycerin for a full pan from W&N tubes. Helps it stay moist and re-wet better.

So, I did get this palette, and I must say the design is nice. I would appreciate a tip on cleaning the plastic; prussian blue stains it badly. Also, do you advise scrubbing the plastic surface lightly so water does not repel ? I find 13.5 wells about comfortable, and they are big, which I am sure helps keep the paint moist. Does sealing it in a freezer bag help keep the paints moist, if I am not using them for a few days ? thx, Roland

If you haven't found a way to clean the Prussian blue, you might try a rubbing it with a soft cloth dipped in a little diluted bleach. I've been watching several videos on paint boxes and heard that that works well. All the best to you.

To clean, try a piece of white eraser. Works for me on most palettes.

+Lily Manson also rubbing with a tiny bit (minuscule film) of veg oil will clean off the thalos and other staining pigments.

WD40 cleans stained plastic palettes well, it is an oil-based product so after cleaning remove residue with soapy water.

Lovely idea. But it is plastic?! It stains visibly, and in time it will get worse, surface shall never be white, which is crucial in mixing of light washes. Porcelain and enamel are still unbeatable.

Good idea but all buckets doesn't match, they are too big. Rembrandt and Daler & Rowney are suitable but Lukas and Sennelier are not.
