Yeah what if the car doesn't have the height adjustment screws? any aftermarket brackets that can be glued onto the chassis to adjust the right height of the axle/tires? Many thanks

I take it most or all club rules have front wheels making track contact as a rule? If so what’s the best way to adjust good ol’ Scalextric if that’s what you have? File the the guide? Thanks for your time!

So the front tyres need to touch the track, but they will not affect the performance of the car like the speed especialy at the corners? Thanks.

Dave, can you make any height adjustment on the Scalextric cars? They dont have any height adjustment screws. Any help? Thanks, Mark in Oregon

Mark Abolofia you have to add blocks to the chassis, they have a video on it.

What is that car you are using in your video?

Do the front wheels touch the track or not?

Yes they do, very lightly though I try to set them up so they are taking just the weight off the guide and braid.

Hi Dave, does this technique relate in the same way for oval track racers?

The point of setting the ride height is to provide stability when cornering. If the front end is unstable it can increase the likelihood of a de-slot. We like to race 1/32nd no mag scale cars on flat (or relatively flat) tracks. Setting the proper ride height helps ensure maximum guide flag depth reducing the chance of de-slotting. This would hold true regardless of the size and shape of the track. The ride height would be less important when racing with magnets (on a plastic track or magnetic braid wood track) and inconsequential with wing cars or glue and foam tires.

What about the "HEIGHT"?......

Navy XA , is that a question if so I am not really sure what you are asking.

Well the video explanation includes the words "setting the correct ride height" and "setting the guide flag to it's optimal depth" . I know very little about actual high performance slot cars but am trying to learn. You showed setting the front axle so there's very little up/down movement or a tight condition, but that could have been done at any ride height.
