It's interesting what you are saying here as I was a really good driver when I was younger. I had 2 minis that came with a Scalextric set and a lot of extra track with it. The two Mini's were 'fixed up' and I had to learn how to control them without putting dents in the wall if they flew off the track, which is what happened the first few times I had driven each of them. Consequently, my Sister did the same and became good at driving too. We would challenge each other to try and keep the cars on the track, or just go solo. Although sometimes my Sister and I deliberately make the car hit the wall (with a nice thump) to annoy my mother LOL. That is how I learnt to drive and use the controller effectively. Now I am older, I have lost that ability to drive slot cars, yet, it's a case of practise makes perfect, especially over 40 years later. Thank You for the video and I appreciate what you are doing here, Cheers :-)

Great driving tips. After you brake by releasing your index finger from the trigger and then return your index finger to maintain momentum, how much pressure do you apply to the trigger? Is it just trial and error...crash and burn? until you no longer crash? Thanks. I enjoy watching you videos.

There is no right answer as each car and track is different. So I guess it is trial and error. You should be able to watch the car and see if it is looking unstable.
