@@maninthemask6275 here it is: The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas" is a 1973 work of short philosophical fiction by American writer Ursula K. Le Guin. Legit reminds me of a story I read in high school of a utopian society that was perfect and peaceful, and everyone lived extravagantly happy lives, and in order for it to operate, one child had to be locked away in a dark room and suffer unimaginably for their entire life. For whatever reason, if that child ever stopped suffering, the utopia would fall apart. The point of the story was basically "is all the happiness in the world worth it if it hurts someone else" and that sort of stuff. This animation just reminded me of that and I probably honestly haven't even thought of it in like over 10 years.

Look at Dante's: Inferno -Main Character is shown Natural law of life (Hell's punishment/Clowns Pain) -Main Character is Aprehensive to the Law(Dante is saddened or concerned with how hell treats those with lesser crimes/Concerned with the clowns wellbeing and pain) -Our guide through the story explains the world and its rules and clarifies its fairness and the why's and why nots. -Our main character finally realizes the laws are fair and accepts/revels in the torment of those deserving (Dante reaching the lower circles of hell/ The Clowns request and the smiles of the patrons at the clowns torture) its a perfect mirror, this is art, this is beautiful. I wish there was a clown room in every establishment for our pleasue and benifit for humanity.

I can't believe you got THE Charles White (Famous actor, know for staring in The Hunger Games) to voice act in your video! Truly Mr. White cares about the independent film community and this show that even after his massive acting gigs, he is still humble.

This is the definition of art. The Clown, an entertainer whose suffering is invisible to all but a select group, produces a kind of happiness for the masses that few will ever even begin to approach. That the Clown must suffer in his isolation to produce this joy is the reason for its rarity; few would have the fortitude to seek out such agony, let alone find pleasure, or even exuberance, in its pursuit. For the product of pain is pleasure, and to seek pleasure without pain is the folly of man. Be like the Clown. Embrace your suffering. Produce your passion. For life is meaningless without it.

Each alone, they go west or north, towards the mountains. They go on. They leave, they walk ahead into the darkness, and they do not come back. The place they go towards is a place even less imaginable to most of us than the city of happiness. I cannot describe it at all. It is possible that it does not exist. But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelasburger.

I can’t even begin to try to draw some parallel to a real world thing right now. Genuinely befuddled by dad here, I mean I am properly bamboozled. To be clear I’m cackling like a goblin, but I don’t know why or at what. Maybe after a couple of shots of whiskey or absinthe this will make more sense. But I’ll bet you the deeper meaning is going to be what it always is, which is that you’re a nerd and also “ooOoOOoo, society!”
