You know this game was definitely underrated when it first came out. More recently however people have gone back to this game and have praised it for its great story and amazing performances and it has in my opinion the second best story in the series with the first thing Arkham City. It also has the best and most accurate depiction of Bane ever outside the comics.

You know, it always confused me back when I was a kid of why everybody either hated this game or didn’t give it that much attention compared to Asylum and City. I love this game, despite the bugs and glitches. In my eyes as a kid, this game was pretty much “Arkham City before Arkham City”. To me back then, that was just perfect, considering how good City is well-received.

@@rushi0309 It faced a lot of backlash due to the fact that Black Mask was advertised as the main villain of the game and when it was revealed The Joker was disguised as Black Mask people weren't very satisfied because there were already two games with Joker as the main antagonist and they hoped that this would be a breath of fresh air which it ultimately wasn't. Also one other major thing was that the game aesthetically felt like it was a copy of Arkham City and in a lot of ways it really was. Another thing that bugged fans was that this game created quite a few continuity errors with events that happened in the previous games. Another major problem this game had was that it was filled with bugs especially when it first launched and even after multiple update patches it still has random glitches today.

Personally I feel like sections were the game turns on detective mode on its own shouldn’t count as challenge breakers, sense after all it’s out of your control. Obviously that doesn’t save this run considering you have to do the crime scene investigations, but if anyone is keeping track of the amount of detective mode uses, I personally wouldn’t count those auto flashes.

There's still even more. Like one I like to call VULNERABLE ASSASSIN. As soon as you touch the open ground, you must stay in range of where an enemy can find you. That means no vantage, no grates, no vents, and no smoke pellets. You also get only one or 2 gadgets and no detective mode

Im right with you, i havent played an arkham game since the start of the school year (early september). I just played both of the insomniac spider-man games for the first time and got used to those controls and controller. I went to play arkham origins as my anual christmas game, and i also decided to play on hard mode for no reason, to say i was rusty was an understatement. The bosses are AMAZING and there are so many little things and references to the other games and their locations My favorites so far are the Wonder Tower Expo where you fight Shiva and a Extortion File where the Scarecrow riddle was in City

I may be biased but playing this on my Wii U in 2013 was one of the defining games of my childhood. It’s always been my favorite Arkham game which is weird cause I thought it was a little blasphemous to recast Batman and joker in the same continuity of the Arkham games but both roger and Troy did FANTASTIC. The cold cold heart dlc was the cherry on top. (which I had to get the game on Xbox years later for cause they cancelled ONLY that dlc for Wii U😭) But seeing a whole lot of Batman’s rogues on Christmas Eve was just so perfect as a setting for me. It took the freedom of City and made the whole city explorable and fun. Gotham knights was also really solid. I hope WB Montreal gets to do more projects like this in the future cause they have more than proved themselves imo

Okay I'll admit, when I first read this description I thought, "that's not even going to be that hard". But then it was very interesting seeing how often this game forces Detective Vision on. I enjoyed this experiment way more than I would have thought.

I also wanted to note... I love how you did this so this isn't meant as a criticism, but you could have made this easier by playing lame/slow (I know, hard for a speed runner). If you unlock the Sonic Batarang on the Final Offer (tougher without Detective Vision but definitely possible, I memorized their initial pattern recently for another challenge I was doing), you can use it to slowly pick off one enemy at a time for the rest of the game. Once you have the Remote Claw and only two enemies are left, you can Remote Claw them together which knocks both down, and you quickly Ground Pound both. But for the content your video is much more fun! =)

If it's any consolation, it's technically possible to get back into the holding cells after you get the disruptor without getting the automatic detective mode activation, provided you have the cryptographic sequencer range upgrade. Mind you, you'd have to waste like 10 minutes to get it by knocking out all of the network relays in one district, but it is possible

I think a pretty decent challenge would be a “No Counter” challenge, obviously it would be possible but it would make combat challenges much tougher opposed to the more difficult predator challenges that the challenges like no detective mode bring.

Yeah Propane tanks can only take out 1 thug at a time, the only way for it to take out 2 more thugs standing next to the 1st is having them be on the ground and then fire the Remote Claw at the 1 still standing, though it sometimes registers taking out 2 guys instead of 3 so there's that.
