I'm in the middle of a business plan for a candle making business. It's something i've wanted to do for a couple of years now, but this second lockdown has spurred me on. I am totally lost with the requisites for selling candles in Europe, the clp label , the UFI, the safety and soot test, traceability etc … is there any document or website we’re all this requirements are listed ??? What a list of what can be done and what not? For example refill of containers … I hope you can help us or guide us on where to find the different regulations requirements etc… thank you for your videos !!

Heeeey, Quick question: if I don’t use ANY fragrance (just using the C3 soywax), I don’t need the CLP label, correct? Just a simple basic warning label should be enough, is that correct?

question that people cant seem to agree on..... when you say 10%.. is that 10% of the wax added on in fragrance i.e 100g + 10g, OR 10% of the entire thing i.e 90g + 10ml?

For example - I do it so - if I melt 200ml of wax, I’d put 20ml fragrance oil in x

Thanks so much Stacey! Aaaahhhh CLP’s are a nightmare lol. In regards to the larger rectangle CLP label that goes on the packaging, if I use jute drawstring bags for my candles instead of a box, is it ok to stick that label on the back of the bag? ♥️

Yeah it’s better to have labels on the box than to not do it, plus you would need the circle CLP labels underneath the base of each candle xxx

I have two questions. Does it have to be a postal address and not an email / web address? Second, do you need to add the CLP label when adding fragrances and dyes? What about if it is a pure wax with nothing added? Great video 😊

From what I’ve seen it’s a postal address but you could check with your local trading standards for definite 💕 Yeah CLP for anything toxic, so if it didn’t have fragrance oil in, it would probably just be a warning label. But always check with your local TS office, because things change on the daily in the candle world xxxx

Would you give your suppliers the purchased business address or your normal home address? Does buying a business address, just apply for CLP labels ? Also, where did you purchase your telephone for customers? as I presume it wont be your own number

I am a bit confused - Q - if I don't want to put this huge unsightly sticker on my candle directly on the side, can I just put the circular one at the base which has all the same info and the other one on the box/packaging? Is that what you are saying? Sorry I didn't understand it properly I am a bit new to all of this! I have a 32 scent collection. I have clp's obviously for each, but ive just put a generic warning label on the bottoms of each candle, is this ok or does it have to have info relating to the clp on the warning label also? Thank you!

Hiya huni from what I understand if the large CLP label is on your packaging, you need a round CLP on the bottom of your candle jar but if you’re unsure just check with your local trading standards xxxx

I want to start with the woman goddess figure mould candles but with them being small and not a jar candle I wouldn’t be able to pop the circular sticker underneath. Hiya hun, I think they’d be classed as more of a pillar candle wouldn’t they? Are you having them wrapped in anything? I know with pillars they have like a plastic wrap and they stick it on that xx

Hiya yes you need a CLP label to be up to regulations in the UK. Some candles from big brands aren’t made/manufactured in the UK so it will have different regs xx
