Steps you follow and learn make you feel less self conscious when club dancing without a partner, or just dancing alone anywhere. Also keeping your mind on the learned movements is another thing to make you not feel self conscious. As you get comfortable following the movements, the self consciousness is likely to go away. This is the only person I've ever known of who teaches club dancing and I've been into dancing for 65 years. We no longer have to wonder what to do on the dance floor. The creative part from us is to fit the dance to the music but it's all subjective anyway- no right or wrong.
