Ohhohhou-jeeah! Tuukka is the man! I'm sure Mcferrin would agree and approve too. Many similarities to his interpretation of "Opportunity", but with a bass voice. Those Mcferrin -grooves work even better with a bigger larynx. Very cool. Tuukka's voice is a marvellous combination of falsetto capabilities and well vibrating vocalfry low register extension. And of course nice bass timbre and range in the modal register. Awesome pipes, as they say. They should do more off this jazzy stuff!

I really enjoy Tuukka. I found ClubForFive after listening to Brothers in Arms by HomeFree and then learning their version was from a music composition that Tuukka sent to Tim Foust, the equally excellent bass singer for HomeFree.

@jbcraipeau Erm no, what bonmoins said is that they don't use autotune; they use machines for other stuff. Which is the opposite of what you said. Oh well.
@Shiny2ndEvo12 жыл бұрын
Oh, I see. I misunderstood. Still, I'm wondering which singers are using pitch correction in this video, and how you can tell? At first I thought the bass may have been using it, but his pitch is quite a bit off at 4:00. I'm not trying to argue - you clearly know much more about singing than I do - I'm just wondering.

@tonadaasbl I think 3rdstove is right. The beatbox is simpler in that section, and at 1:59 it looks like Tuukka (the bass) is clicking his tongue to the beat. It makes his performance just that much more astonishing...
@3rdstove12 жыл бұрын
@tonadaasbl No pedal, it is the bass guy doing all the beatbox.. The guy on the right does beatbox in the choruses.
@bonmoins13 жыл бұрын
@jbcraipeau Well, I've heard them sing a capella and unplugged a couple of times, and they really don't need autotune. They use machines for percussional effects - and of course for mixing, echoing and stuff, like any band does! It doesn't make them any less talented and perfect...

well, i'm not actually sure about that, but in my opinion, music without instruments are a cappella. You can also beatbox a techno song or michael jackson, but it's still beatboxing right?

You could probably call it modern jazz. Which basically sums up everything you mentioned. But rnb or hip hop are not wrong either. Modern jazz is quite vast incorporating rock, fusion, soul, jazz, hip hop, rnb etc. But in terms of the harmonic structures esp. chordal work, it's strongly founding in jazz styles.

Yes. I suspect there is a lack of definitions here. If a song can be both a genre and beatboxing/acapella at the same time, then either a) Rock is not a genre, and beatboxing/acapella is, or b) Beatboxing/acapella is a genre, and rock isn't. Or a song can be several genres at the same time, but that kind of defeats the purpose of using the concept 'genre', I think.
@paulrandig5 жыл бұрын
Acapella ist not a genre. It is a way of performing. You can perform any genre "a capella" (=without instruments). Rock or Jazz are not genres, either. They are styles. You also can perform almost every style a capella. A genre is a very soft and often overlapping classification of the whole environment of the piece of music. Let's assume "protest songs" as a genre. They can be written in various styles (rap, hard rock, jazz, funk, soul, baroque,...) and performed in various ways, i.e. solo guitar, big band, piano, a capella...

Though not a legit chest note , it is too good to be called a belch fart fry. Assuming you are a woman , it understandable why you would feel every note under Bb1 would sound like a belch fart fry. And yes, the note is an eb1.
