I agree, Bill also missed Dr Phil’s point which is that you can’t judge people based on something they’ve said or done once. (Which was the context in his example). Everyone has had moments when we display poor judgement and say/do things that are unwise. It’s a different situation if we criticize a celebrity or politician who has repeatedly taken a specific position on a matter, but even then, we disagree with their opinion which is not the same as trashing their entire character. That’s what cancel culture does, a person can say one thing that the radical mob disagrees with and they get destroyed & loose their livelihood. That’s by far more dangerous than a single politician, we have checks and balances in place to prevent a dictatorship. Cancel culture and wokenes is a very dangerous cultural phenomenon, just like Dr Phil was trying to explain but Bill didn’t seem to catch on to that.

@@carolynsopko1061 But Trump isn't our problem now. We are facing a much larger problem w/Biden. Dr. Phil went beyond just 2 people (Trump/Biden) our problem isn't them they are just the face. The problem is our agencies have been overrun. They have been ruined for a long time. I saw this back in 1975. This destruction & agency fraud has been going on a very long time. I just hope we can overcome it.

I love the look on Dr Phil's face when Bill started listing all the reasons why he doesn't want to be in a relationship. From that moment on the psychoanalyst in him leaned forward and had this fixed expression like he was analysing a patient at a psych ward, collecting data points and making a diagnosis about Bill's narcissism 😂. And i dont think there is anything wrong with opting out of marriage and admitting you cant be monogomous, at least he is honest about that but his motives make him sound quite neurotic

Funny too how you can tell the difference in intellect, Dr. Phil is miles above Maher who indeed is narcissistic. Funny when Dr. Phil says 'why don't you run' ....for office. Yeah Bill is too full of himself, thinks he's an intellectual, makes some good jokes but sometimes just doesn't get it.

it's super funny to me... maher's trump derangement.. he constantly calls trump a narcissist, and while I don't disagree, I'm also like, "whoa whoa whoa, teapot, let me introduce you to this kettle over here." but a narcissist probably makes a pretty decent potus because they're concerned with what makes them look good... if the country fails, that makes them look bad, and they're not gonna have that. so ya know... not the worst. the worst is having a dementia patient literally declining before our very eyes... ladies and gents, the leader of the free world.

I learn so much from watching Maher's show, like how not to live, think, and behave with guests. I have never seen someone so closed-minded pretending to be open-minded. Most of the viewers understand what's wrong with his lack of relationship problems better than he does just because of how much he brings it up, despite him saying how happy he is and certain that no one knows himself as well as he does. Yes, being unfit, pale, wrong on many political issues, alone in elderly age and smoking copious amounts of bud to forget about it seems an awesome alternative to having a family. He's the male version of Chelsea Handler. Yet I still watch his shows because he has great guests. Dr. Phil was patient, entertaining, and well-spoken. I enjoyed this a lot.

That’s what Maher does … when he doesn’t agree with something a guest says he gets on his high horse about how his opinion is absolutely correct. It’s very transparent especially when the topic of Biden vs Trump come up …. “Trump is a criminal and deserves life in prison” but when someone points out any of Biden’s MANY problems he just down plays them all. At least he admits that the Democrats are completely out of their mind when it comes to WOKE …

That's part of marriage and having a family that he misses completely. It's about sacrificing on behalf of others. He even says so in here that he doesn't want to give up part of himself... so instead he chooses to be narcissistic and not serve anyone or give of himself beyond "worship me for how right I am" ego stroking. Having to survive with another person and teach growing kids is what humbles most and forces the mature to actually grow up.

A lot of the "elites" in society hate Trump because they are so much like him personality wise and don't want to admit it. Bill acts like Trump just magically appeared out of thin air, and there wasn't a reason that he became so popular, other than "The country that voted Obama in TWICE suddenly turned white nationalist." Watch any of the post 2016 election interviews, from the people in the projects, to the coal-mines in West Virginia, and they all agreed they did it because they did vote the way Capitol Hill wanted them to, and their lives got worse. Everyone forgets that the major campaign on the left was "We're taking away your jobs, but it's okay, cause we won't suffer. You might, but you're not important. You OWE this to us!"

(?????) Bill understands PERFECTLY that marriage isnt about one's self. That's why he's steered clear of it. And I appreciate ppl who are self-aware & honest about themselves to recognize where they do well, & would NOT do well in life. That's FAR wiser than getting married & having kids. I recommend the family life ONLY to those who: #1: Place God far ABOVE ALL else in all situations. 2) CHERISH their s.o. & the institution of marriage. 3) ADORE Children. ALL Children. Bill has NONE of that. Infact...its the polar opposite for him. I dont think there old fashioned & modern narcissism exist. The characteristics have always bn as they are now. Just like there's no "modern schitzophrenia". Almost everyone in a highly influential position has SOME degree of narc TRAITS. But to actually BE narc is pretty rare & I dont see any signs of Bill having narc disorder. He's admittedly, sonewhat self -absorbed, but that doesn't mean he's a narc. The word narc has bn so overly & misused these past few yrs that its losing its meaning & is used to describe just WHATEVER. (Much like the word "literally").

he looks around at all the divorced and unhappy couples....and he was smart enough to avoid that for which he was not suited for....like the majority of people who are overly optimistic. he is a pessimist.

I see that Bill is drunk and stoned. That's the premise of the show. I have been proven 💯 wrong about Dr. Phil! Dr Phil is interesting, intelligent and funny! What a wonderful way that he presented himself in this video. Thank you ❤

In a strange way, these two actually--as different as they are--compliment each other well. I could see them being tight friends. Bill may not be "marriage material", but one can see that he is most likely a great and loyal friend! And Dr Phil, the master of in-your-face truthfulness, understands the importance of respect and kindness. Great men❤

when he is not being fake or repulsive to Oklahomans, Texans, and Nebraskans, he lies about where he grew up, sad state of affairs - cuz he changes his story on the rainy days, I do not trust that mofo look at his wife, the face of fear.

Bill just doesn't want to be taken advantage of socially or financially. Also, Bill has an adolescent understanding of love and sex. The brain chemistry of falling in love and having "exciting" sex is what Bill craves. The next level of staying in love, forgiving and supporting a long term friendship and spouse are what maturing human"s seek to accomplish. Bill has missed out on knowing and truely being known by another human being. Sad..

Not everyone is meant to be in a relationship and that should be okay. I was always critical of marriage since the first time I heard of the concept as a CHILD. Seemed outdated even then. I was destined to be a lone wolf.

One of the best interviews yet and I’m not a fan of Dr. Phil. Apples & oranges when it comes to most things about these two. A great intellectual convo from 2 people that had never known/met each other.

I like how he blames the faults of children’s intellect on the children and not the parents/teachers who are responsible for teaching them
