People arguing about Denon vs Pioneer have never walked into a club and been expected to perform on equipment from Stanton, Gemini, and Vocapro with maybe a single 1200 mkII if the Gods were in a good mood that day. Brand names don't replace skill.

Even though I am pretty new to DJ’ing there is something to pick up in any video and I know that once I get better I can rewatch your videos and pick up another thing. I absolutely love that about your videos, it also forces me to see things twice and maybe fix some mistakes I’ve been doing because I didn’t understand or I’ve simpled it down.

Glad to hear the Denon plug. I’ve been enjoying my Denon transition over from CDJ’s this last year. I Still miss the feel of a DJM mixer though. Hopefully pioneers new CDJs will implement everything Denon did well.

What I noticed watching this video that I took something from you :D As I am one of your students I am watching your videos from the course and this time I was watching and noticed that the way you twisting the knobs looked familiar to me. How do you choose your genre? My problem is I like to many that are different. So I like house/funky/jackn , melodic techno/progressive house and then techno (peak time driving). I used to like more but can’t seem to choose just 1 and stick to it.
@ClubReadyDJSchool4 жыл бұрын
Perhaps let the type of events and the crowd at those events decide for you. There's nothing wrong though with playing different genres (for yourself) at different time. I do this all the time and am all about this :)

Using club equipment is so different, what I mean is whilst using a controller there will be about 85% look at the wave forms to match the beats as well as using ears you only have to look at youtube vids of people using controllers. Since i transition from controllrr to Denon Sc5000's mixing is 100% better and using the fx in a set I only use a couple, mostly echo, filter, and wash fx on X1800 and the mixer is software based so you can add fx with future updates.

@@md20120 The 5000's are really good. You jyst got to get used to Engine, Denons software library management for its players. But to be serious I havent had a problem with it or the hardware.

Hey man! Hope your enjoying learning to mix the harder styles.. one thing I will suggest you look into is phrases and bars.. start learning the structures of songs and the similarities they have.. I started DJing end of march and have really started to get the hang of getting smooth transitions . If you need to talk anymore hit me up on IG.. glennj420. More than happy to help.

Hey man great video. Would really love a video going into detail about the legality of playing music that you have bought from a music pool. I’ve just subscribed to Soundio and I’m wondering if I can actually play the music that I’ve bought at any venue? Like where do I stand from a legal point of view in terms of when and where I can play my music. Thanks man!!
@Atlantis2844 жыл бұрын
The venue will have a licence to let you play commercial music
@ReeceDaines4 жыл бұрын
Atlantis284 yeah I did think that but I’ve read in a few places that you don’t actually own the license to your music therefore you can’t get away with playing it unless you pay fees. But I’m sure venues will sort all that stuff out for you?
@ClubReadyDJSchool4 жыл бұрын
Yes you can play what you want in venues - it's the venues responsibility to pay fee's not yours :)

Hey Andrew, I’m wondering if on cdj’s there’s an indication of how many beats there are until your next cue point like there is on the RX2 Interface. I can’t for the life of me remember if there is or isn’t because it’s been months since I’ve used cdj’s due to covid. I’m wondering because I set my cues at the beginning of major phrases and use that count down present on the RX2 as an indication of when to mix in rather than setting cues 8 / 16 bars prematurely to the change of phrase like lots of other people do. Cheers mate.
