Today we'll be going through the steps on how to test and replace an Automatic Transmission Clutch Pressure Solenoid Valve; also known as the A/T Clutch Pressure Linear Valve. This valve controls the flow of transmission fluid via the PCM or Power Control Module.
Common issues with a bad valve include delayed shifts, no downshifts and erratic shifting. Here are the trouble codes:
P0746: A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve A stuck OFF
P0747: A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve A stuck ON
P0776: A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve B stuck OFF
P0777: A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve B stuck ON
P0962: A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve A open/short
P0963: A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve A
P0966: A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve B open/short
P0967: A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve B
P0970: A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve C open/short
P0971: A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve C
