Of the hundreds I've watched this is definitely one of the best!

I found several videos showing clutch replacements for my 2004 B3000 but yours is by far the most detailed and informative. Thank you for sharing this. It definitely saved me hours of frustration and knuckle banging.

At 24:00 minutes, I think "throw out bearing" is really "pilot bearing".

My favorite part is how every slave cylinder in the world is accessible from the side of the transmission, listens for its is already the most difficult in the world to bleed, it's awesome how you have to pull a transmission to replace the stupid little part. For bleeding them, I've had luck Jack in the front end way up so that the master cylinder is not horizontal, put in a cone fitting on the end of a brake bleeding line and stick it in the hole of the clutch master cylinder resevoir, and suck it, pump it, refill it etc for about 3 days. After you get the vehicle drivable park it on a 45 degree incline over night. Nose up.

It would be nice to see a 4wd model. Dropping the transfer case and forward drive line. A 4.0L V-6 would be good as it is the most cramped for access. If you see the hardest version the others are easier. Good topic.

Yes. That's the truck I have, a 4.0 V6 4WD riceRanger. (Mazda.) Hopefully it's not too much harder to do.

@ 24;00 you called the input shaft bearing a throw out bearing ???

Loosen the driveshaft bolts while the wheels are still on the ground if you're doing this shade tree w/o a lift.

Great video! On my 2.3 ranger bell housing bolts I noticed the bolts are different lengths do you have any idea how those would go?

16:15 I’d like more detail on how to actually get those out, how do you reach those?

Did you support the engine after you pulled the transmission cross member? Where did the increased distance come from to get at the upper trans/bell housing bolts, was the engine pivoting on its mounts? I did see another video where it was claimed the nineties Rangers have an access panel under the carpet to get to the top mounting bolts on the transfer case and bell housing. Do the later ones have that panel if it is true? Also after all that work I think I would pop for new main rear seal and front and back transmission seals. It get a bit further complicated with the transfer case which would be nice to see. Thanks for an informative video. Doug

I did a 1995 2.5 liter stick tranny removal to replace the slave cylinder. I was able to get to the top bolts from above, under the hood. I didn't even touch the engine mounts at all. It really wasn't difficult.

I’m running into an issue. My transmission will not go in correctly, the slave cylinder is flush with the pressure plate, but there is still a gap between the transmission and the motor. Am I doing something wrong, or do you have any suggestions on how I might fix issue, or am I just not pushing it in far enough?

I doubt I ever will be.It would be quite the roadtrip to have the work done.Shops here can't seem to get the system "bleeding" done correctly after the install.
